From sunscreen confusion to everyday habits that impact your skin, misinformation can lead to real damage over time.

Dermatology-backed skincare starts with understanding what actually protects your skin.

This is Part 1 of Top Skin Myths. In this video, we review:

Myth 1: Vitamin E fades dark spots.

- Vitamin E capsules don’t fade dark spots.
- Dark spots are usually caused by sun exposure and aging, and are better treated with sunscreen, hydroquinone, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, vitamin C, or cysteamine.

Myth 2: You can use retinol during the day.

- Newer photo-stabilized retinols can be used during the day if sunscreen is applied afterward.

Myth 3: Makeup or moisturizer with SPF is enough sun protection

- Dedicated sunscreen (SPF 30+) should be applied first, then moisturizer or makeup afterward for proper protection.
