Homelake provides two levels of care.

Our skilled nursing home has a capacity for 60 residents and our 48 domiciliary cottages provide independent living with assistance.

Homelake's annual Rock Creek Breakfast. As you can see by these smiling faces that our Rock Creek Breakfast is a highlight for both residents and staff. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the whole morning was spent up in the mountains.

Memorial Day Observance 2025. Thank you to all of the volunteers who generously gave their time and effort to help make our Memorial Day Observance meaningful and helped to ensure that we honored our heroes with the dignity they deserve. Although the skies were beautiful at Homelake, the weather on the front range caused the flyover to be cancelled this year.

We are honored that the Colorado Air National Guard will be supporting our Memorial Day Observance with a flyover. See you Monday, May 26th at 10 am at the Homelake Veterans Cemetery. The flyover is scheduled for 10:40 am.

The 140th Wing of the Colorado Air National Guard will perform Memorial Day flyovers of Colorado communities to honor fallen servicemembers May 24 and 26, 2025.

Veterans Community Living Center at Homelake was opened in 1891 as Colorado's Soldiers' and Sailors' Home, providing a peaceful home for aging and disabled Civil War veterans. Homelake, believes in honoring our residents with compassionate and dignified care, has caring for veterans from every major war in U.S. history. Our home is situated on a tranquil 25 acre site in the Heart of the beautiful San Luis Valley. Our natural surroundings and historic buildings offer scenic views of the lake and surrounding mountains and provide a relaxed and serene environment for the care of our residents.
