Cancer treatments have come a long way. According to Dr. Jekwon Yeh, modern chemotherapy is far more patient-friendly than it was in the past, with fewer side effects and better options for managing symptoms. Radiation therapy has also advanced, with oncologists now using precise 3D planning to minimize exposure and reduce toxicity. All of these advancements are creating safer, more effective care.

As Yom Kippur begins, we pause for a moment of stillness and reflection. This sacred day offers a chance to renew, to seek peace, and to embrace the hope of a new beginning. Many in our community, including our cherished staff and patients, are observing this holy day through fasting, prayer, and time spent in synagogue. We wish all who observe Yom Kippur, a year filled with clarity, compassion, and renewal.

Then, a genetic counselor will work with you to develop a personalized cancer screening and prevention plan based on your inherited and lifestyle risk factors. Our Story

For more than 70 years Beverly Hospital has been a vital healthcare partner to the Montebello community and the surrounding areas. It began as the dream of 18 local doctors who wanted to have a hospital for general physicians where they could treat their patients close to their homes. Today this 202-bed acute care facility is a leading independent, non-profit community hospital, recognized nationally for providing quality care. The principles on which Beverly Hospital was founded in 1949 have not changed, and the spirit of dedication to the community that guided the founders is still very much alive. Beverly Hospital is a 202-be acute care, not-for-profit hospital that provides quality medical care to the residents of Montebello, Pico Rivera, Monterey Park, Whittier, Los Angeles and surrounding communities.
