For those who celebrate, Thanksgiving is coming up. The clinic will be closed Thursday 11/25 and Friday 11/26.

Want a fun/educational activity to do with your child? Make a turkey out of construction paper.
You can work on colors, counting (how many feet?, how many feathers?, etc.), and shapes (circles for head and body, triangles for beak and feet, etc). Also cutting and gluing for motor development.

Meet the physical therapist:

I’m Kathryn, licensed physical therapist, board certified clinical specialist in pediatric physical therapy and owner/founder of Let’s Play Pediatric Physical Therapy, Inc.

I was born and raised in the Monterey area and attended MPC prior to transferring to Fresno State. At Fresno State, I received both my BS in Pre-Physical Therapy and Master of Physical Therapy degrees.

I returned back to Monterey in 2006, after graduation, and worked at CHOMP (Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula) for almost 6 years in the acute care and out-patient settings. It was at CHOMP that I fell in love with treating the pediatric population.

In 2012 I moved to Las Vegas, NV to pursue a full time pediatric PT position in a private clinic and eventually working in an autism a developmental disability clinic (alongside OT, SLP, and an ABA team). Due to COVID-19 I was laid off from my job and it was at this time I decided to return to the Monterey area and open my own pediatric physical therapy clinic.

When I’m not working I love trail running, spending time with my dog, and hanging out with my family.

When I tell people I’m a pediatric physical therapist, they usually assume I treat kids with sports or other injuries. That’s not always the case.

Some reasons why a child may need physical therapy:
1. Not meeting milestones in a timely manner.

2. Getting tired frequently when playing with peers.

3. Tripping and falling multiple times a day “clumsy child.”

4. Child complains of pain or discomfort when participating in daily or play activities.
