Special Kids Connect is excited to be collaborating with Notre Dame High School this fall with a collection of mid-day REACH program offerings. Designed for homeschooled youth and young adults with special needs (ages 12 and up), REACH at Notre Dame will offer enrichment opportunities in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Our first program will be REACH Art at Notre Dame, beginning Thursday, August 14 (see below!). Registration opens Tuesday, July 29 at 12 noon. Visit https://reachart.eventbrite.com to register.

Oh! And stay tuned for information about REACH Boxing and REACH Drama -- both at Notre Dame High School -- coming later this fall!

Day 3 of REACH Bowling was full of strikes last night! This week, ambassadors were encouraged to continue building connections with their participants and were also challenged to help foster connections among the participants themselves. It was great going around the groups and discovering the many similarities our participants share. It has been amazing seeing the bonds amongst the group in such a short time. A big shout-out to Valley Center Bowl for their kind hospitality, as always. We can’t wait to celebrate our final session next week! 🎳

So much fun making Play-Dough faces, building marshmallow towers, learning about staying safe in the heat, and dancing our hearts out at Play Connect Grow this morning! Join us next month in BOTH Salinas (August 22nd) and Soledad (August 29th). Thank you to Soledad Family Resource Center for hosting us and Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Stephen and Madeleine Conran Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County for funding these classes!

Day 2 of REACH Bowling was awesome! Our participants are building deeper connections with their ambassadors and forming new friendships along the way. It has been great to see everyone not only having fun but also engaging in more meaningful conversations and finding things in common. We are so excited to be back next week. Go team! 🎳

REACH Bowling was a strike on day one! Our participants came in excited, greeted by the familiar faces of other participants and ambassadors. The alleys were filled with great conversations and plenty of friendly competition. Ambassadors shared how impressed and surprised they were to see participants scoring strike after strike and having so much fun doing it! What a great start to the season. Go REACH Bowling! 🎳

REACH Move & Music left us in awe of our incredible participants!
In just four days, this group learned a choreography over two minutes long. We couldn't be more proud of the dedication and effort from everyone involved!

Our participants showed amazing growth, and our ambassadors supported them every step of the way, all while learning the choreography themselves. Huge thanks to our talented and patient dance instructor, Ellika, for leading with skill and heart.

We’re also grateful to the parents who showed up each day and ensured their participants were ready. Your support meant everything!

We're so happy with how the program turned out and can’t wait to offer it again. Check out the video and photos of all the amazing work! 💚🌟

Our first-ever Inclusion Ambassador Cupcake Decorating Night was so fun! The evening was filled with laughter, creativity, and, of course, cupcakes! 🧁 Our Inclusion Ambassadors serve as positive role models in our REACH Programs, and this event was a small way to show our appreciation for all the hard work they do. A huge thank you to professional baker Erandy Ramirez for guiding us through this fun evening. We’re so excited to continue hosting more events like this in the future!

Day 2 & 3 of REACH Move & Music were amazing! We've seen significant improvement in the choreography in preparation for our final day. Our participants, with the support of their ambassadors, have been doing an incredible job memorizing and learning each step along the way. We're so excited for the final day tomorrow and can’t wait to showcase our performance to the audience! 🌟

REACH Move & Music is BACK! This morning was full of positive energy, movement, and, of course, MUSIC! Together with our amazing participants and ambassadors, we jumped into learning part of our choreography, and we couldn’t be more proud of everyone’s great work. We used fun scarves that added color to our routine. We did the hard work and ended with a fun game of freeze dance! We’re already looking forward to getting back to it tomorrow and continuing to perfect our routine. Go team! 🌟

Where can you make fruit skewers, have a dance party, enjoy story time, and learn about water safety while splashing in the sun? At today's Play Connect Grow! We were even joined by Hartnell College Child Development Center, who shared about their program and gave away books to every family! Thank you to Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Stephen and Madeleine Conran Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County for making these classes possible!

Cheers to the last day of REACH Badminton! 🏸 We wrapped up an incredible season by celebrating our participants, ambassadors, and our amazing coach, Jenn, for all their hard work and dedication. The program was a huge success, filled with fun, growth, and connections. Parents shared how much they enjoyed watching their children form new friendships and develop social skills through the game. Our ambassadors had a blast as well! They felt very proud knowing they made a positive impact by supporting participants in building many different skills through the sport of Badminton. What a fantastic way to kick off our summer programs!
