A fun victory today…
An 8 month old baby boy was brought in because of a head tilt called torticollis. While examining him, I took him for a cruise. He was holding onto my hands, and as I rolled backwards on my stool he took steps. I pointed out to his mama that with each step, he lead with his left leg, then brought his right leg up to midline to meet his left. Each time was the same. Lead with left leg to step, match his midline with right leg.
In addition, I realized the right side of his pelvis was locked and not moving.
Once we were ready to start treatment I attempted to free up his hip and pelvis first, but it was too restricted and his body wasn’t allowing it. I knew better than to force the issue, so I checked on the rest of his body.
His neck needed adjusted so badly, that with hardly any force at all, two spinal segments readjusted in his neck as soon as i led his head to the right posture for it.
After that I went back to his hip and with almost no overpressure his hip clicked right into place. His own body knew how to prioritize his treatment!
We put him back on his feet to cruise with me on the stool again and amazingly, he walked left foot in front, right foot in front, left foot in front, right foot in front. Now with each step he passed his leg well in front of midline with full and even strides on both sides!
Not only did we find that his neck needed the help his mama suspected, but his neck tension was causing issues with his gait too!
Bodies are amazing!
