One of the requirements of our programs is having participants complete community service. Depending on their phase, it can be up to 20 hours per week if they are not in school or employed. We are always looking for places to refer to that need volunteers. If you have a need, please email us at ghtc@graysharbor.us

Wow! Yesterday we celebrated F I V E graduates from our Adult Drug Court program!! We had a packed courtroom filled with family, friends, alumni, professionals, law enforcement, and attorneys. Simply a proclamation that our program works and have a community that supports us! We had the opportunity to review on where they started and how they gained the abilities to remain abstinent from substances, to grow, reflect, and commit to a better path of managing life’s difficulties without returning to old habits.
There is never a dry eye when it comes to celebrating our graduates 🎓
Now they go on and conquer the next best thing, the rest of their lives 🙌

So fun for our participants and alumni to be out there representing Grays Harbor at the Recovery Run and the LCANA softball tournament in Longview this weekend! Fun fact, in addition to the first place trophy the (mostly) Alumni team even brought home the “Serenity” sportsmanship award! They just keep making us proud! 😊🏆🏃🏼🏃‍♀️

Love to share our alumni continuing to do great work in the community. Jon was just shy of his graduation from Drug Court when the Blake decision came and altered his program. We are so happy you continued on the path of recovery!

🌟 Meet Jon Parker – Outreach and Referral Coordinator
Jon Parker serves as the Outreach and Referral Coordinator for the Recovery Navigator Program at Destination Hope and Recovery. He joined the DHR team in February 2025 and has been a vital part of the mission ever since. Jon is proud to be seven years clean and sober, and he uses his story to inspire hope and resilience in others.

💫 A Journey Rooted in Experience and Purpose
Jon was inspired to join Destination Hope and Recovery as a new way to continue his lifelong passion: helping people transform their lives. His journey is deeply personal—he spent many years incarcerated and battling addiction. Having walked the same path as many of the individuals he now supports, Jon brings unmatched empathy and understanding to his work. His lived experience fuels his dedication and allows him to meet people exactly where they are, without judgment.

❤️ Making a Difference, One Life at a Time
For Jon, the most rewarding part of his job is “watching someone become something from nothing.” He knows firsthand how powerful that transformation can be. Through consistent support and a strong presence, Jon is not only helping individuals get back on their feet—he’s giving back to the community that shaped him. Every success story he’s part of reinforces that recovery is not only possible but worth fighting for.

🌱 Stories That Stick With You
One client’s journey especially touched Jon: a man who was in jail and had no direction. Jon showed up in court to advocate for him and was able to es**rt him straight from the sally port to treatment. Weeks later, Jon picked him up, helped him secure housing, connected him with community resources, and supported him through the early stages of employment and sobriety. Today, that client is still in recovery—an inspiring reminder of what happens when people are given real support.

🌈 Words of Encouragement
Jon’s message to anyone working through their recovery is simple but powerful: “If I can change, anyone can.” His life is living proof that hope, healing, and purpose are always possible.

🎣 Beyond the Work
Outside of his role, Jon enjoys fishing and spending quality time with his family. And here’s a fun twist—he’s a superfan of all sports. Whether it’s pickleball or a hot dog eating contest, if it’s a competition, Jon is watching!

📝 Wise Words to Live By
Jon lives by a quote that reflects his go-getter spirit: “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” Every day, Jon chooses to be one of the people who makes it happen—for himself and for others.

A bit late, but too good not to celebrate!
Did you know it’s a requirement of Drug Court to obtain a high school equivalent or GED? Brandon (left) earned his diploma through the HS21 program and alumni Kyle (right) continued to pursue his education after the program and graduated with his AA. Proud of you both! 🎓📚📝

Spotlighting alumni, Michael!! He will be celebrating TWO years sober tomorrow 👏🎉. Our adult drug court isn’t for the faint of heart and really challenged Michael in his programming, although he made a huge change of focus after working hard towards his self-discipline and found true self-respect. Michael had to put societies expectations aside and figure out his own timeline. We are happy to say that he is now trusted, dependable, and respected in our community. Michael obtained his CDL in the program and is now driving for Mason Trucking (looking a little more like Grizzly Adams every day). He is a great dad to his kids, who are active in sports and smarty pants in school. We are so proud that he continues to work hard in recovery and this thing we call life.
