Today, we recognize and honor Navajo Treaty Day. Signed on June 1, 1868, the Treaty of Bosque Redondo allowed our Diné people to return to our homelands, marking a historic testament to resilience, sovereignty, and strength.
As we look back on this monumental day in history, we recognize the enduring spirit, culture, and future of the communities we are so privileged to serve.

Montezuma Creek, UT - 06/25/26 Sustainable community health means looking after everything that sustains us, from our families to the livestock and land we depend on.
Today, we are thrilled to spotlight a unique voice joining our speaker lineup for the 4th Annual Indigenous Men’s Health Conference: Dr. Magdalena Niedermeyer, DVM.
Dr. Niedermeyer is the co-founder of Hooves and Hands Mobile Rural Health, an invaluable mobile service bringing high-quality medical and veterinary care directly to front doors across our rural communities. Her dedication to the Four Corners region is a beautiful example of healthcare sovereignty and compassion in action. As a specialist in large animal veterinary medicine, she provides vital routine and urgent care for the sheep, horses, cows, goats, and pigs that are central to many of our families' livelihoods. From complex herd management and pregnancy checks to routine adult care, her work ensures that our local agricultural roots remain strong and healthy.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Niedermeyer! Come hear her unique perspective on community wellness, resourcefulness, and care at the 4th Annual Indigenous Men's Health Conference on June 25, 2026, in Montezuma Creek.

Taking note of the posts this week across the different social media platform for reminds us that together we can continue to build and support one another. At UNHS, we honor decades of collective impact, resilience, and community care.
For over 25 years, Utah Navajo Health System has proudly invested in the health, safety, and well-being of our communities across the Four Corners region. What started as a dedicated effort to bring healthcare to rural areas has grown into a vital regional safety net, combining modern clinical medicine with emergency services, mobile outreach, domestic violence shelters, and deep community advocacy.
Together, we’ve strengthened our community's healthcare ecology through:
- 4 core community health centers delivering comprehensive care.
- A dedicated standalone dental clinic and hospital partnership.
- 3 mobile units (Medical, Dental, and Mammography) taking care past clinical walls.
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and innovative rural field teams.
- Two confidential women's shelters and cross-border advocacy.
- A growing team of 670+ members working every day to uplift our people.
As we honor these incredible milestones, we invite you to join us and help carry this movement forward. Your support ensures that remote families continue to receive life saving care, our vulnerable relatives find safe harbor, and future generations remain healthy, resilient, and deeply connected to our cultural lifeways.
Together, we can invest in the next chapter of health equity, community healing, and trusted care.
