When My Clients Call Me Out 😄
Kids notice everything. And if something is off, they’re going to say something about it… whether you’re ready or not 😄
Yesterday, I was feeling extra tired. One of my 5-year-old clients noticed the sleepy look in my eyes and decided to educate me on proper coffee habits. Apparently, if I would just stop drinking coffee at night and go to bed earlier, I wouldn’t be so tired during the day. (I tried to explain that I don’t drink coffee at night… she wasn’t convinced 😂)
At one point she looked at me very seriously and said,
“You have that couch in your office. Are you going to take a nap today?”
And when I said, "Yes, if I'm able to get all of my work done," she said, "Good. You really should.”

But this wasn’t the first time one of my tiny clients has called me out.
A few years ago, I came to work sick—no voice, coughing, the whole thing—and tried to push through the day.
About halfway through a session, one of my preschoolers stopped me, rubbed my back, laid her head on my shoulder, and said:
“Miss Renee’, I really think you should go home.” 🥹
And honestly… she was right.

One thing I love about working with kids is how honest and observant they are. They notice when something is off, and sometimes they remind us to slow down and take care of ourselves too 💛
So if a 5-year-old ever tells you to take a nap…
You might want to listen 😄
