SUMMARY
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification. Demonstrated job duties and knowledge listed are sum for the job classification. Knowledge of all duties is to be cross functional but specific duties are assigned within available personnel.
Production Standards/Mechanical Ability:
Must have a good working knowledge of numbers and usage and understand applications for use.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines method and mode of shipment to customer requirements.
Prepares and expedites shipments: Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: Assemble and pack product containers, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required. Prepares all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Proper operation of equipment to safety and productivity requirements, including but not limited to:
• Lift truck or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas
• Operates the stretch wrap banders
• Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Able to receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit. (RMA)
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Quality Standards:
• Must be able to understand quality standards, methods and reporting as required
• To understand and complete labor or time sheets accurately
Safety:
• To maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards
• i.e.: Proper use of personal protective equipment
• Proper use of safety devices, such as lock-out, as require
• Safe operation of all machinery, tools and equipment
• Teamwork:
• Actively participate in department/shift/team meetings
• Participation with safety or quality suggestions
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, departments, preferably customers and vendors as well.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
