1) Healing takes time. One massage can definitely help a situation, but if you've been dealing with a chronic issue, unfortunately it's never one and done. Often we must "peel back the onion" and uncover layers of stuck muscle tissue/trauma before getting relief. 🧅
2) You as the client need to take responsibility for your healing too. Exercise, stretching, stress management, hydration, sleep patterns, exposure to toxins and clean eating all add up to happy bodies.🏋️♀️
3) Healing is a team effort. I know massage can play a huge role, but I also want to hear you're going to the chiropractor, getting acupuncture, going to pilates, sitting in the sauna, talking with a homeopath, etc... let's tackle your issues from all angles! 💪
4) Consistency is key. A monthly massage is great if we're at a maintenance stage. Once per week or every other week is amazing to help the body adapt to new ways of being. Once per year is nice, but it's not going to get results if that's your goal. 🎯
5) Knowing that your thoughts can create your reality. The way you talk to yourself can greatly impact how you feel. Soft tissues and cells respond to the vibes that you emit. No joke! 💭
6) Deep tissue massage often bypasses the communication we need to have with ourselves in order to truly heal. We have to get out of the mindset of no pain, no gain. If you're truly looking to heal from trauma, leaning into what happens with a lighter touch can change everything. 🔮
7) Talking during your massage is another way of bypassing. Talking can pull you out of your body instead of being fully present. When you allow yourself to be quiet, you can truly unwind and release. 🗣️🚫
8) Rest and digest is real and it's preferred. When your belly grumbles, you pass gas or you snore- I am humbled to know you are finally relaxing. 💨
9) Stop worrying you'll "miss something" when you fall asleep. Falling asleep during a massage is wonderful! Let your body be at peace and allow it the time it needs to reset.💖
10) Doing only one modality over and over again, might be holding you back. Mixing things up with Lymphatic Drainage, Rocking, Energy work, Singing Bowls, Myofascial Release can...
