Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) are among the most common complications of pregnancy and postpartum — affecting as many as 1 in 5 birthing people and 1 in 10 men. These conditions include depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and even psychosis that may arise during pregnancy or the first year after birth.
Components of care include compassionate screening, trauma-informed support, therapy, peer connection, and community education — reminding families that healing begins with awareness and access to care.
I’m deeply grateful to share that through a sponsored seat from the Tennessee Department of Health, I’m continuing my journey toward Perinatal Mental Health Certification — equipping me to further serve and advocate for families across our state.
Like neighboring Alabama, Tennessee faces persistent maternal and fetal health disparities and heartbreaking loss. As a Doula and community advocate new to this region, I am honored to help fill a gap — providing non-medical, heart-centered support for birthing and beyond families.
This year, I continue to proudly serve as a Ambassador for Tennessee (and formerly Alabama), educating families about stillbirth prevention and the importance of daily awareness through the Count the Kicks program. Every conversation, every class, and every connection makes a difference.
As I move into 2026 and beyond, I look forward to serving new parents in community spaces and carceral settings, ensuring that all families — regardless of circumstance — receive dignity, education, and care.
To the families I’ve supported in the past: thank you for allowing me into the sacred space of your birth journey. If at any moment you felt unseen or unsupported, please know I am deeply sorry and committed to learning and improving with every family I serve.
I continue this work in honor of my sons, Jackson and JT, and because every mother and every baby matters. ✨🤗🫶🏽🙏🏽👣 You are not alone and not to blame.
