Established in 1961, Easter Seals Central Alabama serves children and adults suffering from autism spectrum disorders. The agency operates the Nurse Aide Training Program for individuals to enter health care field. It provides job opportunities in the areas of assembling, sorting, packaging and collating. Easter Seals Central Alabama offers vocational evaluation, career counseling and consulting services for individuals, businesses and government agencies. The agency features early intervention and speech therapy programs for individuals with developmental delays, articulation disorders, motor dysfunction and cognitive impairments. It provides assistance with improvement of reading, writing and math skills. Easter Seals Central Alabama offers a range of medical equipment, including portable wheelchair ramps, patient lifts, sensory aids crutches and walkers.

The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology (RE&AT) Program helps people with disabilities improve their quality of life in the community, at home, at school, and at work.
Through its commitment to excellence in providing state-of-the-art engineering and technology services to consumers across the continuum of ADRS divisions, RE&AT works with individuals to find or develop assistive devices that will reduce or remove barriers they have due to their disabilities. RE&AT assists its consumers with the dignity they deserve, and with the goal of helping them achieve their independence in the forefront.
