I am mom to 1 son & 2 daughters & second mom to many of their childhood friends. I have been very blessed throughout my life & have always tried to bless others. In May 2009 we were blessed with our 3rd granddaughter. & so blessed were we. 4 healthy grandchildren. 3 girls 1 boy. Rotten little boy I might add. How little did we know how our lives would change in 6 months. Nov 2009 two days after Thanksgiving I received a call that still makes me cringe with the memories. Get to hospital now, shes not breathing,shes blue, unresponsive,dont know whats wrong. Panic takes over as Im trying to process info. Then it hits me...they live in the country ambulance will never make it in time. Im trying to call with a thousand unanswered questions. An aunt had rushed in & took the baby & they were enroute to meet ambulance. Aunt calls,the ambulance has her now & shes breathing but very labored. She has no answers for me. Finally I arrive at ER. I was met by deputy sheriff she is still alive. So our journey begins. Sugar was over a 1000 & we didnt know what they were saying??? Diabetic...what??? Didnt run in our family. She was in DKA,life flighted to Childrens Hospital where she stayed till after the new year. What a roller coaster ride we were on. Next couple years was learn learn learn everything we could.Life getting back to as normal as we knew. Tough little cookie she was. Madison is the daughter of my youngest daughter. Feb 2012 received a phone call get to hosp now. Same chain of events but they are wrong. I was told Brianna was in DKA....I argue with caller wrong child. Madison is diabetic not Brianna. Madisons mother tells me its not a mistake. Brianna the daughter of my oldest daughter is in DKA she is diabetic too!! Life fighted to Childrens Hospital. 27 months earlier we went through this. How is it happening again?? Is the roller coaster gonna stop?? It did & today we have adapted to a differant life. Madison just turned 6 & Brianna will turn 10 this year. Our sugar babies & a bond with each other that will always be there. So they are my motovation. I raise redworms for fishing, composting & worm casings. Worm casings will give you a beautiful flower or vegetable garden. We always asked God to help find a cure & out of nowhere the name popped in my head & the idea to sell worms to help find a cure was born. So here we are. The girls just love it & just maybe oneday a cure will be found & it would just tickle the girls to know Nanas worms helped to find a cure. I have recently added the Alzheimer Association in memory of their great Nana. She lost her fight 3-31-15. My mother now is in her fight with Alzheimer. I thank God for the 2 years Nana Bets lived with us as it was to prepare me for our journey we have began with our mom. I ask all that pray to please keep us in yours & our family will always keep you all in ours. Until you walk this path with a loved one no one can fully understand the effects it has on a family. With Gods grace & our Faith we will face whatever He places before us. He leds us daily & on the tough days He carries us. Our Motto: "LET GO AND LET GOD".
