We spent yesterday afternoon at Bullock County High School’s Family Engagement Night! Thank you so much Principal Golson & Assistant Principal Broughton for having us.

Our new Healthy Youth Prevention & Education Program (H.Y.P.E) serves Bullock, Russell, Macon, & Lowndes county’s Pre-k-12th graders.

We deliver resources to parents and students. Most notably through presentations on relevant topics like social media safety, bullying prevention, mental health awareness, body image, and self esteem.

These presentations are given virtually and in person by our Peer Ambassador Coaches, postgraduate and undergraduate students from Alabama St. University & Tuskegee University.

We’re looking to name a Peer Ambassador in each county. Peer Ambassadors will help build positive cultures and engage their peers in discussions and activities related to health and wellness!

DM us if you’re interested in knowing more.

💊 Discovery MedCamp – Day 5: Pharmacy Fun & Hands-On Learning! 🧪
We kicked off our final day with an exciting deep dive into the world of Pharmacy — and it was packed with learning and laughter!
Campers explored the many ways Pharmacists compound medications to meet patient needs, from creams and capsules to IV bags. They even got hands-on by making their own pretend IV medicine — “Campamisiun” — just like real Pharmacists in a hospital setting!
💼 They also learned about the diverse places Pharmacists can work, including hospitals, retail pharmacies, research labs, and even public health and policy roles.
And to top it off? We wrapped up the morning with some friendly competition during our Pharmacy Games — where campers teamed up and faced off in challenges for ultimate bragging rights! 🏆💙
An unforgettable morning filled with science, strategy, and smiles.

🩺 Discovery MedCamp – Social Work & Physician Assistant Sessions! 🌟

Thursday afternoon was all about discovering the many roles that healthcare professionals play — both in and out of the clinic!

👩‍⚕️ Our campers got hands-on with the Physician Assistant (PA) staff from Faulkner University, where they learned how to suture like a pro and explored how PAs fit into the healthcare team, providing vital care across a wide range of specialties.

💬 Then they dove into the world of Social Work, learning about the many ways social workers support individuals, families, and communities. One highlight? Meeting Valerie, the social worker from the Opelika SportsPlex, who shared how she helps keep local seniors young at heart — through programs like Zumba and Pickleball that promote wellness, connection, and fun.

Every session shows our campers just how many paths exist in healthcare — and how each one makes a difference. 💙
