Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company turned routine training into a Winter Olympics–inspired skills showdown. Crews grabbed their Holmatro EVO tools and competed in hands-on challenges like a tennis ball relay, Jenga, and can stacking.

Creative drills like these keep training fresh and engaging while reinforcing skills and coordination needed for real-world calls.

Great job, team!

ESI Race Track Safety Services was at Volusia Speedway Park for two days of SFI Fire Rescue Certified Training for the World Racing Group track responders. Included in these training sessions were several train the trainers to enhance the instructor group.

ESI RTSS has been at Volusia for a number of years training their group to keep their level of skills up to date. We are always greatful that the WRG looks to maintain a high level of skills and knowledge to their on track response teams.

The ESI RTSS team also assisted the response group at Volusia for a few nights during Race sessions.

Today, ESI Equipment pauses in remembrance of our partner and friend, Ron Thames.

Ron was the founder, inventor, and visionary behind FuelBuster, FireAde, Enforcer, and FIREBULL firefighting products. His passion for innovation and his relentless drive to make the fire service safer changed the way departments respond to some of the toughest incidents.

But beyond the products and the patents, Ron was a friend. His impact will continue to be felt every time one of his products helps protect a responder, a department, or a community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside him and to carry forward the legacy he built. Please join us in keeping Ron’s family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts during this time.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our leader and friend Ron Thames.

Ronald E. Thames
May 9, 1948 – February 5, 2026

Ronald E. Thames, known professionally and personally as Ron Thames, passed away on February 5, 2026. He was 77.

As the President and CEO of Enforcer One, LLC, he served as a guiding force in the advancement of firefighting, fuel hazard mitigation, and environmental safety technologies. Under his leadership, Enforcer One grew into a globally respected organization, with its World Headquarters located in Peachtree City, Georgia. Ron’s life’s work was defined by innovation, determination, and an unwavering commitment to protecting lives, property, and the environment.

Ron is preceded in death by his beloved son, Ronnie Thames (2004), and his parents, Eugene Horace Thames and Ethel Margaret Thames.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Thames; his daughter, Andrea Thames, and grandsons Zach Shirk and Bryan Shirk; his sons Will Lawson, Mark Lawson (and grandchildren Trace, Landry, and Nash Lawson), Stephen Lawson and Katy Lawson (and grandson Stephen), and sister Sheila Towns (and nephew Justin Gulledge).
