It was a rough day for Lawrence County, and our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. Global Medical Response air and ground assets resounded and showed how we can bring care at a moments notice. Rescue 9 (helo) and Air Evac 99 (helo) and Medic 1, 2 and 3 (Lifeguard) along with Monticello Fire and Police, Lawrence County Fire, Lawrence County SO, Lawrence County Emergency Dispatch, and Lawrence County Emergency Management responded and provided true excellence in team work to handle a difficult situation. Well done to everyone.

The calm after the storm, shows the strength of Lawrence County. This picture was taken at 3a this morning. Your first responders responded throughout the night to last nights violent storm. Your Emergency Management, Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Coroner, dispatch, and road crews quickly mitigated all the emergency calls we received, cleared roads, and provided assistance. There are still trees down so please drive carefully. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was negatively impacted last night.
