Please remember the Everett family in your prayers and share this post to make others aware of the arrangements.

Mr. James Edward “Jimmy” Everett, 84, of Sontag, Mississippi and formerly of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at his home. He was born on April 23, 1941 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Alvin and Ophie Rhodus Everett.

Visitation will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church (Sontag, MS) on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM until funeral services at 3:00 PM; graveside services will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Everett spent most of his adult life in Denham Springs and retired to Sontag where he and his wife made a home for the last 25 years. After moving to Sontag, he became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church; he loved his church family. He also loved the outdoors and hunting and was a founding member of the Oak Ridge Hunting Club. Most of all he loved his family and will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lare’ Everett; a daughter, Tracey Everett Parham; a grandson, Thomas James Parham; his parents; a sister, Helen Everett LaVergne; and two brothers, Ray Everett and Raymond Everett.

Survivors include his son Dean Everett (Vicki) of Watson, LA; a daughter, Julie Everett Roberts (Butch) of Monticello, MS; six grandchildren, Brad Everett (Miriam), Cody Everett (Domenica), Adam Everett (Nikki), Merrell Parham Borne (Trampus), Jason Roberts (Shylo), and Alaina Lanclose (Daniel); numerous great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
