We spent the morning at Diva Nails getting pampered by the wonderful staff. They are always so lovely to us. ❤️💅
A big thanks to one of our Pedal Pusher volunteers for donating gift certificates to Diva Nails that were prizes in our recent activity auction. Residents earned “money” by participating in activities and participating in our popular Healthy Living/Walking Club. We try to think of clever ways for our residents to reward themselves by staying active and engaged. Win, win for everyone!! 💪

It was beautiful weather this week for our second annual trip to enjoy the lazy river at Sholem Pool. One of our newest residents, Carolyn, even enjoyed the slides!! A heartfelt thanks to our many volunteers who were essential in making this a wonderful day!! Thank you to our gift wrap and yard sale fundraising donors who ensure we can offer these experiences throughout the year. It really does take a village! ❤️

Hello everyone...especially family and friends who receive calls from someone here at Maple Point... on your caller ID it appears as though someone from Jacksonville, IL is calling you but it's likely a resident or a staff member from here. 😁We're getting a new phone system so it's just one of the things we've discovered. Yesterday was packed with some good food, good fun, and good company!

We had Patty Daddy’s for lunch, Main Scoop ice cream for a treat and then some fun in the sun.
We put our feet in some nice cool water, and played in the sand!

Social Hour yesterday was a blast! We had a packed house with lots of singing along! Dave N’ Lisa are amazing and we would certainly recommend them hands-down. It was a great way to end our supportive living week, which was jampacked full of fun. More photos to come.❤️

It’s Sun’s Out, Fun’s Out Supportive Living Week at Maple Point.
This week started out with some fun times!

Human slot machine played by both the staff and residents!
Then some fun tic-tac-toe competition with the staff while the residents cheered us on.

What is supportive living week?

Supportive Living Week is a designated time—usually a week—set aside to celebrate, raise awareness, and promote the value of Supportive Living communities, especially for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
It’s a week we get to spoil the residents EXTRA!!!

So this week we’ve celebrated with a theme of summer pool party!
Come check out the facility with all the decorations. It’s been so fun.

The Idea Garden in Urbana on Lincoln Ave is absolutely stunning! Everything is bursting with blooms and we highly reccomend a trip there! One of our Art Club members is ready to let our morning be an inspiration for what we paint next! We met a wonderful Master Gardener, Chris and her buddy, Nugget (who let us give her belly rubs). Chris was so welcoming and educated us on how the Master Gardeners design the gardens and share the responsibility of caring for it with others. They design, plant, maintain, and make sure the gardens are practically perfect if today was any indication. Chris even offered to come out to Maple Point and lend us a little of her expertise. Truly, it was a wonderful morning. It seems we never meet a stranger, which is such a blessing.

It is Supportive Living Week and the residents on this outing were promised Jarlings Custard Cup, but guess what we learned??? They don’t open until noon🙄😩!! Off to Baskin-Robbins we went & it was pretty much butter pecan for everyone! 🍦Jarlings we will see you another day.ming
