A RESIDENT FAVORITE - BALLOON BOP!

Balloon Bop is an excellent, low-impact activity for that improves hand-eye coordination, encourages mobility, and fosters social interaction. Residents keep balloons in the air using their hands or pool noodles.

NUTRITION FUN!

Residents had a great time during a Nutrition Fun activity led by our Dietitian, Nicole Tagge! She shared information about healthy fats and their importance in a balanced diet. Residents had the opportunity to see and handle a fresh avocado before enjoying a tasty treat of guacamole served on pita bread.

For some, it was their very first time trying guacamole—and it was a hit! Everyone enjoyed the delicious snack while learning something new about making healthier food choices.

NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATED AT VALLEY VIEW

March is recognized as National Nutrition Month, and Valley View’s Dietary Services team, Forefront, celebrated with a delicious and nutritious special meal designed to highlight the importance of healthy eating.

Residents enjoyed a choice of Blueberry BBQ Chicken Breast or Baked Cod, served alongside Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Sautéed Collard Greens, and fresh Berries with Whipped Honey.

At Valley View Rehab & Nursing Center, in partnership with Forefront, residents and staff embraced this meaningful month by focusing on the power of good nutrition and the vital role it plays in supporting overall health, energy, and quality of life.

Residents had a hands-on (and delicious!) activity this week—making homemade butter right in a jar! 🧈

After a little shaking and teamwork, they enjoyed the fruits of their labor by spreading their fresh butter on warm rolls and bread 🥖🍞

The verdict? Some of the best butter they’ve ever had! 😋

🏀 MARCH MADNESS WEEK WRAP-UP! 🏀

We wrapped up our March Madness celebration with a basketball contest featuring staff members representing their departments! The competition was full of energy, teamwork, and plenty of fun.

Residents joined in to cheer on their favorite teams and even got in on the action themselves after the contest—showing off some great moves !

VALLEY VIEW RESIDENTS ENJOY FURRY VISITOR'S

Sookie (Megan Barnes fur baby), along with other beautiful pups spent time with our residents — and it was a tail-wagging good visit! 🐾💕

The pups made their rounds, bringing smiles, laughter, and plenty of cuddles to everyone they met. Visits like these truly brighten the day and create meaningful moments for our residents.

Thank you, to all the pet owners, for sharing your pets with us—we can’t wait to see them again!

MARCH MADNESS WEEK CONTINUES AT VALLEY VIEW!

The excitement keeps rolling at Valley View Rehab & Nursing Center as our March Madness celebrations continue! Residents and staff are enjoying fun-filled activities, delicious treats, and plenty of basketball spirit throughout the week.

Highlights so far include:

Basketball-themed donuts and coffee generously donated by Dunkin’! A huge thank you to Jonathan Dannelley, Manager, and the 3rd Street Dunkin’ staff for brightening our celebration.

Talent shows and variety acts, featuring music, baton twirling, and Irish tunes – there’s truly something for everyone.

Shamrock Shakes served after the shows, bringing a sweet finish to our festive days.

AND PAJAMA DAY WAS A HIT --- (l-r) Roz McClinton and Donna Jamison are twins in their leopard print PJs and the Recreation Therapy crew show off their finest sleep wear -- Valerie Ramin, Stuart Harsch, Bonnie Kane, and Lucy Walz.
