CVOEO’s Samaritan House is currently at full capacity. The waiting list is now about three times larger than the number of available shelter beds. At this point, anyone applying to the list is unlikely to secure a room before the coldest months of winter.

To help meet the growing need, Samaritan House is partnering with Gift Drive — a program created by University of Vermont students that makes it easy to give meaningful, direct support to local nonprofits. Through this drive, you can purchase urgently needed items that will be shipped straight to the shelter and distributed to people experiencing homelessness in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties.

If you’re able, please consider donating supplies to help make an unsheltered Vermont winter a little less harsh for our neighbors.
