This week, we held our annual Veterans Day Ceremony. Our gathering was made extra special as we were joined again by two veterans, sons of one of our residents. Dressed in full blues, they folded our flag, shared poems, and also brought coins of appreciation, gifting them to our residents who are veterans. We at Westview Meadows are humbly grateful to them, and to all veterans for their service to our country.

Roger the Dog, The Cutest Pumpkin Ever, Tillie the Flapper, and Dr. Pepper were this year's Westview Meadows Costume Contest Winners! We had a great turn out-ghoulish snacks were devoured, everyone got a laugh out of Roger the Dog...lots of halloween spirit! :)

Residents gathered in the Main Dining Room here at Westview Meadows to go Groovin through History. This lively, 45-minute interactive program blends iconic music from the 1950s & ‘60s with chair-friendly stretching, light dance, and fun musical facts. We listened to hits from artists such as Buddy Holly, Elvis, The Platters, and more. Our facilitator, Emilie Savitri McDonald, brings extra memorabilia to add to the experience as residents enjoy the music together!

Residents from both Westview Meadows and our sister facility, The Gary Residence, took a trip in the van to Pease Farm Stables in Middlesex. Owner, Sarah, was a gracious host along with the 4 legged friends we met there. This is always a favored outing for our residents... just look at their faces! :)

Vermont Magician Alex Hilshey returned to Westview Meadows to “wow” residents and staff once again. Alyx is a comedy entertainer and sleight of hand expert. Her stand-up magic show is entertaining, engaging, and fun. Residents were wide-eyed and laughing throughout the performance!

At Westview Meadows, our excellent culinary staff not only prepare delicious daily meals but also create tasty snacks and beverages, too. An afternoon snack cart provides room service in the early afternoons to our Residential Care residents and, on occasion, staff provide refreshments for social hour in our Santa Maria Lounge before evening dinner service. Residents and staff, alike, enjoy the treats and conversation!

Westview Meadows used a home-made ice cream maker to turn cream and sugar into delicious ice cream! Residents had the choice to eat the treat plain or add some chocolate sauce or rainbow sprinkles. It was a well-attended gathering filling the main dining room with much chatter and smiles!

We had Sarah from the Magic Bean Farm here at Westview Meadows with fresh blooms from her farm. Residents really enjoyed working with real garden flowers... lots of ooohs and ahhhs!

Cowboy Poet, Mark Munzert, visited us here at Westview Meadows making residents smile, laugh, tear-up, and ponder by sharing stories & lessons of cowboy life, bringing his poetic parlance & rhymsical recitin’ sharin’ tragedy & triumph. Then folks gathered for a Hometown Hoedown in the Main Dining Roomo. We wore jeans & western duds including cowboy hats and boots as we ponied-up for some line dancing. With good grub from the kitchen, it was a rootin’-tootin’ good time. Yee-haw!!!

Westview Meadows residents gathered in the main dining room to listen, sing, relax, dance, & enjoy a groovin' step back into the 1950's. We played music and shared some fun facts from this shakin' and rattlin' decade. It was a Rollin' Good Time!
