We are deeply saddened and express our condolences following the death of our friend, Ted Schmidt.
Ted led an incredible life, full of travel, generosity, and humor. He was an Army veteran, a master businessman, friend to all, and dedicated to his family above all. He won many awards as testament to his giving spirit and caring nature, and has supported BLMH for many years, including providing the funding to build our Dialysis Department in 2008.
Ted believed that “philanthropy... is a responsibility.” And he embodied that throughout his lifetime. “He left things- and us- better than he found them”, Rod Jacobson, retired BLMH CEO and friend of Ted.
We are so grateful for all Ted has done, for his experienced advice, his compassion, and his kindness. We cannot quantify the effect of the gifts he has given to our community, and the amount of life he has given back to our patients. Thank you Ted.
