We are back to having one doctor at the clinic following Dr. Fulmer’s recent decision to officially retire.
We’re incredibly grateful for the time he spent helping us and the care he provided during his time here.

Thank you for your understanding as we adjust our hours to allow Dr. Miller some much needed time for other responsibilities and commitments.

If you’ve been to Bear Lake Animal Hospital in the last several months, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Joy – and if you have, you’ve probably noticed her big smile, quiet hustle, and how she somehow manages to be everywhere at once!

Joy came to us in October 2024 from Banner County, Nebraska. Growing up with five sisters and one brother, she learned the value of hard work and helping others early on. Originally hired as an assistant, Joy quickly showed her value by stepping in wherever we’ve needed her – with zero complaints and her signature smile. She is one of those people who is constantly moving and constantly helping. She keeps your nervous pets feeling safe, the clinic spotless, our spirits high, and her quiet wit has us laughing daily.

Her love for animals and deep desire to learn more about caring for them brought her here. She was also inspired by a close family friend who is a veterinarian. She has already built up an impressive range of experiences, from working with small pets to livestock. Some of her most memorable experiences have come while assisting with c-sections on both dogs as well as cows, witnessing new life up close. She says there is nothing more rewarding than being there for pets and their people in their time of need.

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find her with her horses- either in the arena or riding on a trail somewhere, which is her favorite way to unwind after a busy day. Joy also enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time with her dog. If that wasn’t enough talent, she also plays the guitar and piano!

Joy, you keep us all sane, smiling, and inspired. Thanks for being the rockstar you are. We wish we had ten of you – but we’ll happily take the one we’ve got!

Is it just us, or does Bear Lake Animal Hospital feel extra lively this year? With new faces, new roles, and even a couple new babies… our team is growing faster than a wagging tail at treat time!

2025 has already been a year of exciting growth for Bear Lake Animal Hospital, and many of you have probably noticed some new faces around! Part of this growth began when two of our assistants were gone on maternity leave. We have been thrilled to welcome two beautiful baby girls in to our Bear Lake Animal Hospital family! Huge congrats to JT & Rylie and Zak & Taylor! Rylie and Taylor have both returned and we are excited to have them back!

As the demands on Dr. Miller have increased, we’ve also had some internal shifts, with two of our staff members, Trinity & Abby, stepping into the role of office managers. With all these changes, we’ve been lucky to add even more incredible talent to our team, and we can’t wait for you to get to know them! In the coming weeks, we look forward to introducing these wonderful new team members to you on our social media platforms, so you can get to know the friendly faces caring for your pets.

First up: Joy Bagley! Joy joined us in October 2024, and in the short time she has been with us, she has made a huge impact. Stay tuned to learn more about Joy and the wonderful contributions she brings to Bear Lake Animal Hospital!

What a privilege it was to celebrate another successful Baby Animal Days with the great valley of Bear Lake. This year was made extra special for our family as we celebrated the life of Elaine Merrell, and the legacy she left within each of us.

A special thanks to our dessert vendors, to our cooking help, to our animal volunteers, to our 4H/FFA help, to our wonderful staff, and to each of you for making this day such a success.

The last day of waiting!
It’s officially here!
Baby Animal Days is TOMORROW from 11:00-1:00 at the Bear Lake Animal Hospital.
Here at the clinic we are getting all of the last minute touches put together and we are very excited to celebrate 7 years of business with our wonderful clients and community.
Make sure you stop on by and join us for the festivities and when you do keep an eye out for our wonderful staff members sporting their Baby Animal Day T Shirts. They are all looking forward to seeing you all soon!

We will be closed, Monday, June 2nd, for the funeral service of Elaine Merrell… a beloved mother to Shannon, mother-in-law to Dr. Miller, and cherished member of our Bear Lake Animal Hospital family.

We will also not be accepting emergency calls for the following days (Friday, May 30th - Monday, June 2nd) to allow Dr. Miller’s family and staff the opportunity to pay their respects to this incredible woman.

Elaine was known for her gentle spirit, warm smile, and unconditonal love for all around her whether that be family, friends, or neighbors. Her contributions to the lives of those around her were immeasurable, and her “I’d be glad to” legacy will have a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

We appreciate your kindness and understanding during this time.

The countdown has begun! Bear Lake Animal Hospitals 6th Annual Baby Animal Days is officially 1 week away!

There are a lot of exciting things happening at Baby Animal Days this year!

As always, we’re thrilled to welcome a special friend to the event! Any guesses what he may be this year?! 🤔🧐

We are also excited to celebrate Dr. Miller being in practice here in the valley for 7 years! We’re beyond grateful for the hours of hard work and the endless care he has provided for our beloved pets and livestock.

We look forward to seeing our many friends of the Bear Lake Valley next Saturday, May 31st from 11:00-1:00 for the event.
