🌿 Is Home Birth Safe? Here’s What the Research Actually Says.
When home birth is planned, attended by a qualified midwife, and chosen by someone with a healthy, low‑risk pregnancy, the evidence is incredibly consistent:
Home birth is as safe...IF NOT SAFER... as hospital birth — with fewer interventions and higher satisfaction.

A large 2019 meta‑analysis published in The Lancet looked at over 500,000 planned home births and found no difference in perinatal or neonatal mortality compared to planned hospital births.
Other peer‑reviewed studies echo the same thing:

Lower rates of inductions, epidurals, and cesareans

Safe outcomes for low‑risk pregnancies when attended by trained midwives

High maternal satisfaction and better birth experiences

Home birth isn’t about being “brave.”
It’s about choosing a setting that supports physiology, autonomy, and calm — with skilled midwives who know how to keep birth safe.

Birth works best when people feel supported, respected, and free to follow their instincts.
And for many families, that happens right at home.

Hello fellow momma, my name is Natalie Classi and I was born and raised in beautiful Colorado as well as my husband, Matthew, and our two precious daughters. In addition to being a Birth Doula I own my own Salon called All Things Beautiful in Montrose CO. I love helping people be well and feel beautiful. I incorporate my love of helping others into everything I do. I am very natural-minded and love all things, plants and animals! Plants are our wonderful free medicine and support. My friends and family always call me first for a good natural remedy or trick for their health. I strongly support good essential oils and homeopathy. I have been deeply engrossed in educating myself in all things “natural” for the last 12 years due to my oldest daughter being injured by the pharmaceutical industry. It radically changed my life to have to find ways to keep her alive without the help of the medical system.
I have a huge passion for all animals and grew up training horses and dogs. I’m told that I am an extremely empathetic soul, and I truly thrive and enjoy those soft spaces in life, like helping a woman transform into birthing her baby. I have a beautiful love for the outdoors, hiking, and I absolutely yearn for the ocean at least once a year. Nature is my happy place!
I became a doula after my own birth experiences that were far from what I wanted for myself. I also felt strongly led by God to help women and babies at the very start of life. The beginning of life is where our baby’s foundation of health starts and it is important to make health decisions for your baby at the beginning to give a strong foundation for their body’s future. I wanted to change the way birth is perceived and help empower women to take back their births. If women are fully informed then they know the basis of all decisions and can make choices with consent and full knowledge behind each choice, of how it may affect her, or her baby, or her birth experience. I believe you should always be in control of what happens to your body and our decisions start with a good foundation of education regarding birth and everything it includes! It is my passion to help women to make the best decisions for themselves and their family at the very start of new life!
I am here to help protect women from medical abuse and maintain full bodily autonomy. Women remember the good or the bad things that happen during their births for the rest of their lives and I want to help make more positive memories than negative. I am here for support through all stages of emotions, birth, birth partners and beyond. My calling in this space is to serve (doula means servant), always support you the mother and give you the best support while bringing you and your partner closer together. I love using Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis to help achieve wonderful relaxation, reduce discomfort, and lessen medical intervention. I am a big supporter of all types of birth as it is all magical and beautiful! I do prefer home birth because of less amount of trauma to mom and baby, but I often accompany moms to hospitals or c-sections based on a case-by-case scenario. Because WOMEN are taking back their birth, their bodies, and their babies. We are changing generations of trauma in for peace and healing. We are actually learning that we are SAFER at home than in an institution. We are not putting our trust in strangers to deliver us from a perfectly NORMAL function of women’s bodies. Birth is powerful, undisturbed birth is a RIGHT, and you deserve to birth how YOU want. This healing and this statistic is something I want to jump for joy about. We are bringing joy and peace and love and respect back to the birth space.
