Annabelle Moon was born in October 2016 in Pasadena, CA. Diagnosed at birth with a congenital heart condition and soon rushed From Huntington Hospital to Children's Hospital Los Angeles where doctors told her mother Crislyn Sand that Annabelle was born with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) and a congenital heart defect called Unbalanced Complete Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD), with Hypoplastic Right Ventricle, with Moderate AV Valve Insufficiency. At only 2 days old; Doctors told her mother that there was no cure for Annabelle's condition and she would eventually show signs of congestive heart failure and pass away, they suspected that it would be within the year. The next day staff put their years of experience and knowledge together and offered Annabelle Moon hope to preserve her arteries and valves so they could potentially do surgeries on her in the future to help extend her life.
