My number 1 priority in life is the safety and health of my children, my family and my patients.

That means I research everything that goes into my body. I read every food label before I buy, I call ahead to restaurants and ask questions about the ingredients they use.

Why do I go to such an extreme?

Bc at the age of 17, my father was diagnosed with leukemia and by the time I turned 23 my brother had breast cancer.

From 17-27 I lived and breathed cancer. In and out of hospitals, countless pill 💊 bottles and fear of them dying consumed me.

Then I became a mom at the age of 27 and I had no clue. I listened to everything my doctor 👩‍⚕️ told me.

With every shot my son got, I would run home and give him a red cup of Tylenol so he wouldn’t be uncomfortable and I would internally cry. Something about it seemed so wrong.

Fast forward 6 years later to when I was pregnant 🤰 with number 2. At this point I had already graduated from school and learned that anything injected into the body actually lowers the immune system.

It made me question everything.

It made me think.

Unfortunately I still made the decision to get the TDap while pregnant and the vitamin k shot at birth. Both decisions I would regret for years to come as I tried to heal my va))ine injured child 👶.

Tomorrow night, I will share my story with you. The things I wished I would’ve known. The awakening I wished would’ve happened years sooner.

When I was 23 years old I made a 6 figure salary and was on top of the world, or so I thought.

It was all about “me”. My sales, my skills, my, my, my, until one of my co-workers sat me down and said “Shil, you may bring in the money, but “we” are a team”. Those words stung, but he was right. It changed my entire thinking at a very young age.

Now I understand that “I” am responsible for “my” health. Not my doctor, not my family members, not my government.
