Reinforcement matters. Just like adults appreciate being recognized for their hard work, kids learn best when their effort is acknowledged. Rewards help build confidence, motivation, and real-life skills. Reinforcement isn’t spoiling, it’s supporting growth. 🌱✨

En casa trabajamos con lo que la familia ya tiene. Juguetes, rutinas y espacios reales ayudan a que las habilidades se generalicen mejor. También practicamos en la comunidad cuando es necesario. Todo para que el niño aprenda jugando y la familia participe. 🧠✨

Let's talk about "Positive Phrasing" in ABA! 🧠🗣️

Positive phrasing focuses on telling children what to do, rather than what not to do. It guides behavior by giving clear, achievable instructions while reinforcing appropriate skills. Instead of highlighting mistakes, positive phrasing redirects and empowers children to succeed.

Why It Works:
- Reduces frustration and confusion
- Models desirable behaviors
- Helps children understand expectations
- Builds confidence and strengthens rapport
- Encourages cooperation without power struggles

Positive phrasing creates a supportive learning environment that helps children thrive, because how we speak shapes how they grow!

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) isn’t just for autism! It’s also widely used in behavioral health settings. ABA techniques focus on changing observable behaviors through reinforcement and environment (“ABA in Mental Health,” n.d.).

Many BCBAs apply their expertise to mental health conditions like anxiety, OCD, and ADHD; helping individuals build skills for emotional regulation, self-control, and meaningful life changes (“ABA Therapy for Behavioral Support Programs,” 2024).

Whether you’re seeking support for developmental or mental health needs, ABA offers evidence-based strategies tailored for all learners!

“Mand training” is all about helping our learners ask for what they need — with words, pictures, gestures, or signs. When they learn that communicating (“I want more!”) leads to getting something they love, communication becomes powerful, meaningful, and fun. 🗣️🧠✨

New Insights on ABA Therapy! 📊

Recent research shows that over 89% of studies report meaningful improvements for children with autism who receive applied behavior analysis (ABA) including gains in communication, social skills, and adaptive behavior (Advanced Autism Services, 2025). Critical factors influencing success are early intervention, intensive treatment hours (often 25-40 weekly), well-trained professionals, and active family engagement (Advanced Autism Services, 2025). While ABA doesn’t positively impact every single domain (such as motor skills or IQ), it remains one of the most evidence-based treatment approaches for autism spectrum disorder (Advanced Autism Services, 2025).

Everyone’s cozy corner looks a little different. Here are a few ideas you might find: headphones for soft music or rain sounds (or to block out noise for a minute), a plush toy, a weighted blanket, a calming game, a fidget, and a good book. What’s in your cozy corner? 🧸🎧📖

In ABA, “behavior” means the specific action we can clearly see and describe. It should be observable, measurable, and written in a way anyone else could see and understand the same way. 🤩

Through our candidates, we’re constantly learning and growing as a company. Recently, a TA team member had a great conversation about the IBAO International Behavior Therapist (IBT) which is a global credential requiring a 40-hour training, 300 hours of supervised practice, and an exam (International Behavior Analysis Organization [IBAO], n.d.). For comparison, the BACB’s Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certification that requires a 40-hour training, an initial competency assessment, and ongoing supervision (Behavior Analyst Certification Board [BACB], 2025). Both paths center ethics, training, and supervised practice; the IBT via IBAO’s international framework; the RBT via the BACB’s U.S.-based system (IBAO, n.d.; BACB, 2025)!
