Prajjali's fundraising chapter, The Prajjali Project, allows us to give back to those who can benefit from yoga. We created Prajjali and The Prajjali Project out of a shared vision to help yoga expand in the United States. The way we see it, the more people practicing yoga, the more peaceful the world will be. Yoga is one of the few forms of exercise that can benefit everyone, at any age, regardle
ss of physical ability. We wanted to make it easy for yogis to expand their practice, and be able to take yoga classes wherever they went. So we came up with the idea of the Prajjali Pass, a multi-class pass that could be used at any partnering studio. However, we quickly realized that something important to us was missing from our business model: giving back. We then created the “buy a pass, fund a class” structure to offer everyday yogis the chance to help change the world, simply by doing what they were already doing – taking yoga classes. There are numerous heart-breaking stories of veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and suffering needlessly or even sometimes taking their own lives. Considering the horrors of combat, it’s no surprise that this story has become all too common. Fortunately, there is something that we can all do to help. Recent studies have found that yoga and meditation are highly beneficial for coping with PTS and physical disabilities. After learning this, we decided that a wonderful way to give back was to fund yoga classes for veterans each time a Prajjali pass is purchased. Be part of the Prajjali story—partner with us for peaceful warriors today. Namaste,
Terri and Elissa.
