Last weekend I got cross-contaminated by gluten.
🌾☠️🤦♀️
15 years being gluten free, and I still periodically get cross contaminated, despite my stealth ninja navigation skills. 🥷🤺😉
It’s been a couple of years since my last episode, I almost forgot the level of awful of all that is involved.
Yesterday my entire body hurt.
I was inflamed.
My legs hurt.
My hands were swollen.
My stomach hurt.
My tailbone hurt.
I was EXHAUSTED.
I had brain fog, anxiety and could not think.
I spent my time between the couch and the toilet.
I loaded up on enzymes, antioxidants, and natural antinflammatories.
I fasted.
👆🏻THIS is my life living with autoimmunity.
This is what eating something that has been cross contaminated with gluten does to me.
I’ll feel the residual effects of this for the next 3-7 days. Sometimes it goes on for a month.
Gluten free isn’t a trendy diet.
It’s MY necessity.
For my clients that suffer with chronic GI symptoms and autoimmunity, I GET IT.
This is why I make you audit your kitchens, personal care products, bath products, pantries and spice racks.
This is why I audit your supplements.
This is why I write your recipes.
This is why we role play through menus, trips, super bowl parties and happy hour senerios.
This is why I hassel my supplement reps.
This level of care is REQUIRED for autoimmune management.
