I didn’t want to say anything until it was officially official but after 31 years in the high school/middle school setting, I will be retiring at the end of the school year.
I have accepted a job with a company called Athletic Training Solutions.
They have contracts with construction companies across the nation and hire ATs and put them onsite at construction sites to provide injury prevention services to the construction workers.
Starting May 18, I will be onsite at the new data center being built in Temple.
It is definitely bittersweet, I am going to miss working with Bearcat and Lady Bearcat athletes but I am extremely excited about this new opportunity and getting to retire and have a more stable work schedule which will allow me to spend more time with my family.
I want to thank my amazing wife, Vanessa Hargrove, my wonderful daughters, and my fantastic family for their support during this season of change. I love you beyond words and I wouldn’t be able to do this without you.
Getting to come back home and work with Bearcat and Lady Bearcat athletes, create a training room, and set up the Bearcat Sports Medicine student athletic training program has been nothing short of incredible. I am certain that this program is set up for future success and I am “leaving it better than I found it”.
So this is not so much of a goodbye as it is, a see you later. Once a Bearcat, Always a Bearcat!
