The Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) era has revolutionized opportunities for student-athletes, from middle school to college, to monetize their personal brand through sponsorships, content creation, or merchandise sales. Importantly, if a student-athlete receives cash or cash-equivalent value of $600 or more in a year from NIL activities, they will receive tax forms (e.g., 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC) in January and be responsible for the associated tax burden, which may include federal, state, and self-employment taxes.

Setting up a one-person, aka, single member, Limited Liability Company (LLC) can provide structure, legal protection, and tax advantages for managing these earnings. This guide outlines the steps to form a one-person LLC, obtain an Employer Identification Number (EIN), secure a Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) number, and establish a business address and phone number for a home-based NIL business, with a dedicated section for athletes under 18. That being said, note that SE 4th Street is now closed from Broadway to Tower Rd.

If coming from the west, you will either use Main Street to Turner to Tower (or) 19th Street to Tower to get to the facility. Our 4th Street Entrance is not accessible at this time.
