Norman and Moore Vision Clinics will be closed all day, today, due to the icy road conditions. For our patients’ and staffs’ safety we will open tomorrow at 8:00 am. In case of an eye emergency please call 405-321-2155 and follow the prompts to reach our on call physicians. Please be safe and warm out there.

Do you want to work for a fun, exciting clinic? We are hiring a full time Doctor's Assistant. We are looking for someone that has great computer skills, can multi-task, and loves to learn new things. This person must have a positive attitude and a friendly personality and can multi-task. With these skills we will be willing to train the right candidate. Starting pay is $12.00 an hour. Staff Spotlight ⭐️

Dr. Melanie Newcomer

She grew up and still resides in Norman, Oklahoma. Dr. Newcomer received her Bachelor’s in Chemistry from OU, and she graduated from NSUOCO in 2018. She’s a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.

Fun fact: Dr. Newcomer got her private pilots license in 2012!

Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, community volunteering (both eye and non-eye related 🙂), traveling (prior to covid ☹️) and baking (especially cookies). She has two furbabies named Remi and Kitty!

Staff Spotlight ⭐️

Dr. Max Venard

A graduate of Oklahoma State University and Southern College of Optometry, he started practicing in Moore in 1977. He was also a former physics and chemistry teacher in Davis, Oklahoma!

Dr. Venard is actively involved in both the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the OAOP. He has served on the board of Moore Municipal Hospital and the Moore Norman Technology Center Board of Education. Over the past ten years, he has been intricately involved in bringing The CHILD Project and the Senior Safety Net to Oklahoma in cooperation with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Association and B12 Technology.

His hobbies include the Mustang Club of America and the Oklahoma Mustang Club. He and his wife Debbie enjoy their children and grandchildren’s activities, especially basketball. They are members of the Well Church of Mustang. His ideal pet would be a T-Rex and his favorite color is red.

It’s that time again!

A new school year is approaching, have you or your family had your annual eye exams yet? Not only does your optometrist detect, diagnose and treat eye conditions, they can also give you an updated prescription for glasses or contacts! We have trendy new glasses styles to choose from for all ages. We also fit first time contact lens wearers as well.

We are closely monitoring weather conditions. As of now our office plans to be open Wednesday and Thursday. We will contact our scheduled patients by phone, text or email to let them know if anything should change.
