🌟 Clinic Spotlight: The Mooreland Clinic 🌟

For the past decade, Wendy Crotts, APRN-CNP, has proudly served the Mooreland, Oklahoma community as a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner.

A graduate of Graceland University, Wendy began her healthcare career working in the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit as a registered nurse which are experiences that built the strong clinical foundation and deep compassion she brings to every patient encounter.

Wendy provides comprehensive, family-centered care for patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults. She values the trust her patients place in her and considers each one an extension of her own family. 💙

Outside the clinic, Wendy enjoys life with her husband of 20 years and their four energetic boys. When she gets a quiet moment, you’ll find her reading or working toward finally mastering the Rubik’s Cube!

Wendy is supported by an incredible clinic team who keeps everything running smoothly each and every day.

Joanna Elliott, APRN, Wendy Crotts, APRN, and Shandy Baggs, APRN all earned their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Graceland University!

But here’s a special connection that makes this even more meaningful…

While Shandy was finishing up her own schooling, she was helping Wendy deliver baby #3. During that time, she encouraged Wendy to consider Graceland University for her NP journey. That conversation became the driving force behind Wendy pursuing her Nurse Practitioner degree.

From supporting each other in life’s biggest moments to sharing the same educational foundation, their story reflects what makes Newman Memorial Hospital and Newman Healthcare Associates so strong; teamwork, mentorship, and a commitment to growing together.

❤️ February is National Heart Health Month! ❤️
Take charge of your heart health with a $40 CT Calcium Score Special which is a quick, non-invasive CT scan that measures calcium buildup in your coronary arteries to assess your risk for heart disease.

📆 Who should get one?
Doctors typically recommend starting coronary calcium scoring around age 50, especially if you have risk factors like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or a family history of heart disease. Some clinicians consider testing as early as age 40 in higher-risk individuals.

⏱ How often?
If your initial score is zero with low risk, re-testing every 3–5 years is common. Higher scores or greater risk factors might mean testing more frequently to discuss a personalized plan with your provider.

📊 Did you know?
In 2022, heart disease accounted for about 26% of all deaths in Oklahoma and roughly 305 deaths per 100,000 people.

🚨 Weather Closure Notice 🚨

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our staff and patients, all NMH clinics, outpatient services, the business office, and administration will be closed tomorrow due to inclement weather.

Our Emergency Room remains open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for any emergencies that may arise.
