It’s Casino Night at Parkers Bend! Our dealers, Lou, Sous Chef Vince, Charlie, and our server Stefanie, dealt some good games of blackjack to the residents! The players used their winning chips to bet on some fabulous prizes provided by Lorene, in partnership with the Caring Hospice service, just in time for the fall holiday season.

Our second quarterly Swap Shop took place this past Friday! Residents and staff enjoyed pastries and coffee while shopping the wonderful donations their neighbors brought! Everything that was left over from the event was donated to the Vietnam Veterans of America.

It’s bigger, it’s better, it’s BINGO Night at Parkers Bend! Residents filled our dining room set up like a bingo hall for an upscale hour of bingo games, winning incredible prizes and enjoying a drink in between!

This past Friday, our residents hopped on our bus and traveled to the Grounds For Sculpture Museum! We got to check out the incredible gardens and sculptures around the museum, while having fun with friends along the way!

Residents wore their western best at our Roundup Rodeo. We’ve spent the past two weeks practicing our line-dancing, and broke out our best moves! Our hand-decorated wooden horses made their grand debut as well, while the remaining residents got to bet on which horse would win: Ginger and her horse Pinto Bean! It’s always great to spend time with friends dancing the night away.

Our very own Marjorie James was featured on CBS Philadelphia tonight, celebrating her achievement of being the first Black female teacher at Wayne Elementary School! Mrs. James helped teach young students that anyone can achieve their dreams! All of Parkers Bend sends congratulations to Marjorie!

Thanks to our wonderful health & wellness vendors, we were able to hold our first Health & Wellness Fair! Residents were able to chat one-on-one with the care providers who look to support us, and enjoy the goodies they had to offer, finished off with a healthy snack made fresh by our kitchen staff.

This past weekend Parkers Bend celebrated the summer sunshine with our Sunflower banquet! Our spacious dining room was decorated head to toe with bright shining sunflowers, with our very own art gallery, showcasing hand painted works of art and hand crafted fresh floral arrangements made by our residents. Everything truly came together with a custom banquet menu and specialty drinks that our culinary staff worked hard to create!
