Our January spotlight is on Perri May, LMFT, PC. Perri's services include Reunification therapy, which few therapist do. Below is a little bit of what she has to say about Reunification.

Court Ordered Reunification Therapy and or Court Ordered Family Therapy: A Gentle Perspective

In high-conflict divorces, some children experience a painful breakdown in their relationship with one parent. When this happens, a court order may order reunification or family therapy to help support the child and family in a thoughtful, therapeutic way.

From a reunification therapists’ perspective, this work is never about forcing a child or placing blame. It is a structured, child-centered process that prioritizes emotional safety, careful pacing and understanding. Children in these situations are often carrying fear, stress, and loyalty conflicts and therapy offers space to slow things down and listen to their experience with care.

Reunification therapy is not appropriate in every case, and ethical practice always centers around the child’s well-being. When appropriate, the goal is to reduce emotional strain and support healthier connection over time.

We are so happy to introduce our newest therapist, Chris.

Hi, my name is Chris Siegfried, I attended the University of Pittsburgh, where I graduated with my master’s in social work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have certifications in Parent Child Interactive Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

I believe that therapy is about building a relationship with the therapists so that you have the confidence to work on personal issues that will help you reach the goals that you desire. I believe that therapy is about looking at what your perspective is about your: life, thoughts, emotions, situations and helping you to learn new skills to change and balance those so that you are in a better place. One that we work on collaboratively. You decide where therapy goes and how much effort goes into this, and you also decide how much you get out of it. I always look for strengths and positives in others.

We have grown Again! We would like to welcome Kelsey Hank, LCSW to our practice. Below is a little about her:

Hi! I’m Kelsey, and I work with children ages five and up, as well as teens and adults who are facing all kinds of challenges in life - things like anxiety, stress, trauma, school struggles, stage of life changes, parenting struggles, or those “I don’t know exactly what’s wrong, but I need some support” moments. I have a passion for working with children/adolescents and their families, as well as supporting individuals across their lifespan.

My approach is grounded curiosity, respect, and collaboration. My job is to walk alongside you or your child as a supportive guide, offering a fresh perspective and space to figure things out. During our work together, we will have the opportunity to learn new skills and build new insight to help you or your child navigate the challenges you may be facing.

Any mental health struggles are a lot to handle on your own. Trauma is no different! Support and teamwork through therapy are the best way to work through mental health and trauma difficulties. One of my favorite quotes comes from the Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson: "The most important step a man can take. It's not the first one, is it? It's the next one, always the next one."

I currently offer Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT). During the month of May, I will start implementing EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy) to help people on their trauma journey.

Our practice has grown not only in office space but in therapists!!!! We are so excited to announce the addition of Zachary Craddock and Lauran McClelland, who have joined Perri and Aaliyah at May and Associates Therapy Center.

Zach's favorite therapy cliché is from The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson "The most important step a person can take is the next one, always the next one." Zach is certified in Trauma Focused CBT, and enjoys working with clients of all ages, couples and families.

Lauran's favorite therapy cliche is "IF nothing changes, nothing changes" Lauran enjoys working with clients of all ages and families.
