What a wonderful evening of connection, learning, and community at our recent Laura’s Village Parent Support Meeting!

We had a fantastic turnout at Victory Lanes, including several new families joining us for the first time. One family even shared that they discovered Laura’s Village from the SIP IT FORWARD wall at Hoptown Brewing Co.—a reminder that community partnerships truly make a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing buddies who came out to support our participants. Students from Davidson College Buddy Club, and the Rocky Mount Church Young Adult Group helped make the evening welcoming, fun, and inclusive for everyone.

We are also incredibly grateful to Amy from Monarch, who provided a thoughtful and informative presentation, especially highlighting important information about residential options and planning for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

And a very special thank you to Victory Lanes for creating a joyful and relaxed space for families to connect while our loved ones enjoyed a fun night together.

Moments like these remind us what community is all about—people coming together to support one another and celebrate abilities.

Laura’s Village has been selected as a participant in the Hoptown Sip It Forward® program for 2026–2027—and we would love your support!
Here’s how you can make a meaningful impact:
🍺 Order a pint of Sip It Forward®, a refreshing blonde ale with a purpose
🪙 Receive a $1 token with your purchase
📍 Visit the Sip It Forward wall in the taproom
💚 Drop your token into the Laura’s Village container to show your support!

If you want to order a different beverage (non-alcoholic too), you can still donate by purchasing a token.

At the end of the year, all tokens are converted into donations for the participating charities. You can even add extra tokens to your tab to give more!

Since 2021, this incredible program has donated over $84,000 to local nonprofits—proof that small acts truly add up to something big!

Every token represents kindness, inclusion, and community. Thank you for helping us continue to celebrate abilities and cultivate connection.

✈️ Wings for All is coming to Charlotte!

Charlotte Douglas International Airport, in partnership with Delta Air Lines and The Arc, is hosting the Wings for All® program—an incredible opportunity for individuals with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities to experience air travel in a supportive, low-stress environment.

This special “dress rehearsal” allows participants to practice every step of the airport journey, including:
• Checking in and receiving boarding passes
• Going through TSA security
• Waiting at the gate
• Boarding a plane (which will taxi but not take off)

In addition to supporting participants and families, this event helps airport and airline staff build greater understanding and confidence in serving travelers with disabilities.

🕒 Check-in begins at 3:00 PM | Boarding at 4:00 PM
📍 Charlotte, NC

Participation is limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. Each participant (age 6+) may bring up to two support people, with one allowed to board the aircraft.
