My TMJD Focus Massage class in Greensboro went great! After months of writing and editing the Power Point and study guide, it was way more fun to actually present it to the massage therapists who showed up to learn. I’m heading back to Greensboro to teach Ethics - Clear Connections on May 18th. In Mooresville, My Ethics - Clear Connections class will be June 1 and Oct 12 and my TMJD Focus Massage class is Sunday, Sept 14, 9-6. I am still seeking a site for this hands-on class. We need room for 3 - 5 massage tables to be set up and space to move around them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lydia 😀

TMJD Focus Massage - Learn Neuromuscular Therapy Techniques to address jaw pain and disfunction.

April 27, 2025 - Greensboro, NC
May 4, 2025 - Mooresville, NC

In this 8 hour Continuing Education course for Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapists, we will:

-Explore how Neuromuscular Massage Therapy can help to relieve TMJD symptoms;
-Identify the indications and contraindications of working with TMJD
-Recognize trauma considerations and the importance of respectful, and gentle therapy techniques when addressing the vulnerable tissues of the mouth;
-Learn the anatomy and physiology and Trigger-point pain referral patterns of the affected muscles that contribute to the dysfunction;
-Learn Neuromuscular Massage techniques to address the fascial and muscular tension that contribute to TMJ;
-Hands-on Practice - giving and receiving a one hour TMJD Focus Massage incorporating Neuromuscular Massage techniques with at least one partner;
-Discuss other available therapies and the importance of knowing when to refer to other healthcare providers when necessary;

Learning Outcomes:
Students will demonstrate proficiency in treating TMJD with Neuromuscular Massage techniques and be prepared to do so with a 50 to 60 minute TMJD Focus Massage Protocol.

Two treatment rooms available to share. Mostly evenings/afternoons on weekdays and full days Saturdays and Sundays. One is a licensed salon space with hydraulic lift table and a mobile sink (not plumbed) appropriate for massage, esthetics and other wellness-focused businesses. The other has a standard table and not a salon licensed space, good for masssge, Reiki, or other wellness professions.
