Lake Norman Regional is a comprehensive medical center that provides the highest level of clinical care using the most advanced technology available. Our medical campus encompasses a 123-bed hospital, orthopedic specialty center, an outpatient surgery center, comprehensive women’s center, a surgical center for weight loss, and four medical office buildings. Lake Norman Regional Medical Center is owned in part by physicians.

It's always a great week when our hospital's leadership team enjoys lunchtime visits with our Duke Health medical providers and ambulatory team members in their clinics. Most recently, senior leadership enjoyed spending time with the team members in General Surgery NorthPoint and also the team members in Surgery and Breast Health Mooresville. Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital hosted its annual summer learning program, Camp Med, this week. The program is designed for high school students interested in medical sciences and healthcare careers as an opportunity to see and hear from diverse medical professionals in the hospital setting. The students experienced activities this week that included over 20 contact hours of presentations, tours and observations, and clinical experiences.

It's official! Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital's Gift Shop has re-opened, complete with unique gifts and must-have goodies for everyone, from newborns and new moms to all patients, family, friends and co-workers.

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital's July Town Hall featured Kristie Barazsu, President and COO, Jan Toth, Acquisition Program Director/Duke Health Technology Solutions, and Karen Rourk, Associate Chief Health Information Officer. Kristie provided a follow-up to last month's Employee Town Halls and an overview of Duke Health's Culture Commitments--Put People First, Be Clear and Empower, and Adapt to Improve. Jan and Karen reviewed the upcoming Epic upgrade and hospital implementation plan. Employee team members were invited to attend in person or via Zoom.

The next Town Hall is scheduled for September 24.

Randy Marion Subaru and Subaru Loves To Care collaborated with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to provide donations to patients at Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital. Visitors to Randy Marion Subaru in Mooresville were given the opportunity to share personalized messages of hope to patients in their local community, which were delivered alongside blankets to provide comfort and warmth as they continue their fight against cancer and related illnesses.

For nearly 10 years, Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital patients have been the grateful recipients of this thoughtful and generous donation by Randy Marion Subaru. Thank you Randy Marion Subaru and Subaru Loves to Care for your continuous support!

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital names Andrew Gross, MD, as Chief Medical Officer. A respected neurologist/neuro-ophthalmologist and long-standing member of the Mooresville medical community, Dr. Gross brings an exceptional blend of clinical expertise, leadership, and a deep, personal connection to the region. A proud graduate of Mooresville High School, Dr. Gross has always maintained a strong commitment to advancing health care in his hometown, making his appointment especially meaningful.

Dr. Gross joined the medical staff in 2014 as the founder of First in Flight Neurology, where he has provided expert care in a wide range of neurological conditions including stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and neuro-ophthalmologic disorders. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is one of the few neuro-ophthalmologists practicing in North Carolina.

His academic background includes undergraduate and medical degrees with honors from West Virginia University, a master’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Wyoming, and advanced training at New York University and Harvard Medical School. Beyond the clinic, Dr. Gross is also a licensed pilot and Aviation Medical Examiner, having demonstrated remarkable leadership by delivering supplies to Western North Carolina following the 2024 floods.

Dr. Gross is the son of long-time family physician Dr. Thomas “Tom” Gross and Rhona Gross. He lives in Mooresville with his wife, Nicole, and their two sons—continuing a proud legacy of service and care in the community.
