September is Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Awareness Month, and we're proud to support the White Sock Campaign by the Save A Leg, Save A Life Foundation (SALSAL)! Our Wound Healing Center held a a PAD informational reception this week for all hospital team members, complete with delicious treats AND a white sock for everyone to wear in support of this important campaign.

PAD is a serious circulatory condition that can lead to non-healing wounds and even amputations if left untreated. To raise awareness, participants wear one white sock on an exposed leg—symbolizing the struggles faced by amputees and those living with PAD.

Early detection and treatment can save limbs—and lives.
Let’s stand together for PAD awareness. One sock at a time. 🧦💙

After our successful School Supply Drive held in August, where Duke Health Lake Norman team and community members donated essential school supplies including notebooks, backpacks, binders and folders, pens and pencils, crayons, calculators lunchboxes, and so much more, we enjoyed delivering the collected items to the local Mooresville Graded School District's (MGSD) Central Office where the school system Superintendent, Dr. Jason Gardner, happily received the donation for local school children. Thank you to all team and community members who contributed!
