This past Saturday, we were back at Boo at the Zoo for their last weekend! Although it was a bit chilly, it was so much fun to see everyone out 🎃Solutions is preparing for one more Halloween event coming up, Monster Mash Trunk-Or-Treat!

We are thrilled to announce Solutions has been enrolled in Thrivent Choice 🥳 You can now find our organization in the Thrivent Choice online catalog where you can donate to support our goal; which is to serve you and your loved ones quality, accessible mental health services!
Our St. Cloud location is getting into the spooky spirit, all thanks to Stoney Brook Farms Inc.!! Our kids and parents had a blast painting pumpkins, as you can see, our little "pumpkins" got creative with their art! Our staff also got creative with a friendly pumpkin carving contest🎃
We very much appreciate the generous donation!
Today, we honor members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community by celebrating their courage and trust in people with their identity. Car #430 has been donated! This vehicle went to a lady working with Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals.
She moved to Minnesota five years ago after the death of her daughter and has struggled to get back on her feet. The vehicle she moved here with broke down and since then she has struggled greatly to have access to transportation to her appointments or any community activities.
Her mental health has been greatly impacted by the trauma she experienced with her daughter’s death and has struggled to improve, in part due to difficulties with transportation. She works really hard with her providers and wants to make change in her life.
With a vehicle. she would be more independent in being able to take herself to her various appointments, would get more involved with her community and make connections that will help her through her grief and trauma. She also would be able to visit her family more often for additional supports.
She often feels like a burden when asking for help and lets her mental and physical health decline by not being able to get to clinics or the ER when necessary. Reliable transportation would significantly increase her ability to make these changes in her life.
Thanks to the Fargo Public Schools South High Automotive class for repair this vehicle. We appreciate their efforts to ready this nice vehicle for this deserving lady.

Digital wellbeing is crucial in our day and age; Dakota Medical Foundation and Valley Christian Counseling Center are hosting a very beneficial technology training next week. You can learn and practice healthy ways to use technology in your every day lives. Make sure to register!
Not only are devices widely embraced by adults around the world, but they also are pervasive in the lives of young people. The Common Sense Census, a representative survey of American tweens and teens, documented that outside of school and homework, tweens (8- to 12-year-olds) spend almost six hours per day, and teens (13- to 18-year-olds) spend almost nine hours per day using media, including watching TV, playing video games, using social media, browsing the Internet, reading, and listening to music.
Valley Christian Counseling Center and Dakota Medical Foundation will be hosting a Healthy Technology Training For A TechWise Community on October 23rd from 5:30 - 7pm at Dakota Medical Foundation, sponsored by the Matto Foundation. The training will focus on current trends regarding technology use and some of the impacts of screen use on the brain, along with special emphasis on strategies to help children, teens, and adults manage their screen use in a healthy way.
Registration is limited! Grab your free spot here:

reminds us how important it is to get screened for this common mental health problem. Depression can be paired with numerous mental health conditions, but depression alone can make someone feel isolated and sometimes worthless. Depression tests are often incorporated in routine health check-ups but can also be found on trusted sites like this one:
The Depression Test is for individuals who are feeling overwhelming sadness. The depression test is also available in Spanish.

Car #422 has been donated! This Chevy sedan went to a lady working with Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals.
Throughout the years she has worked very hard on her mental health and continues to strive to reach her goals. She is a single mother, trying to take care of the needs of herself and daughter who has special needs.
In the last year, she has been working Door Dash and at local hotel. Her previous car had over 300k miles on it and was at the end of its life expectancy with multiple critical components failing. It just broke down and in order for her to continue her independence and to work, a vehicle was needed.
We pray that this vehicle provides reliable and safe transportation as she continues to navigates the road towards self-sufficiency.
Thanks to all our volunteers for helping to complete the repairs to this vehicle, making a tremendous impact on this lady's life!

Our Communications & Marketing Coordinator, Gillian Trudeau, had the opportunity to attend the Dakota Medical Foundation's Summit with this year's topic, 'Digital Addiction and Dopamine, Finding the Balance in the Age of Indulgence'.
Clinician scholar and author, Dr. Anna Lembke spoke on the current environment we live in with limitless access to technology, how that is negatively affecting us and our youth, and how we can help turn the downward trend that social media has on our mental health.
There are many ways you can be conscientious of your family's digital well-being; one could be having a central charging station for all devices in your home, creating a separate space where technology won't be used or associated, like a bedroom. Attached is a list of 9 other ideas that you can implement!
