The tradition began when Paul and Florence Korsmo moved their family from Warren, Minnesota, to Moorhead to open Korsmo Funeral Chapel on January 1st, 1958. It was during those early years that Korsmo developed the motto which has endured through the decades - "Serving when the need is greatest". Today, we are on Facebook as another way to share obituaries with the families we serve and make ourselves available for questions, comments, or concerns.

We were honored to play a very small part in the remembrance of Pablo "Pete" Hernandez. What it really reflects is the unity and comradery of the area patriotic bodies, including our law enforcement agencies. "We salute you!"

We had the honor, this morning, to participate in the final worship service at Scandia Lutheran Church in Averill, MN, after 123 years of ministry. We have served the families of Scandia over the years and it was fun to see them again, despite the bittersweet process of closing the church. We videorecorded the service and we are proud to have been asked to do so.

Plan to join us Tuesday, September 13, from 10 AM to 2 PM, at the newly renovated Armory Event Center in Moorhead. Mingle, visit, grab a bite to eat and listen to speakers as they discuss issues facing us today such as estate planning and protection, and advance planning for your own wishes.

Visit with representatives from local healthcare facilities about assisted living, long-term care, memory care, and hospice care. We will also have representatives from home medical equipment providers.

And for the practical person, we will have specialists in downsizing and organizing your home.

Our featured speaker will be Phil Swan. Phil is a Fraud Manager at Gate City Bank. He brings a high level of passion and over 10 years of fraud fighting experience from law enforcement and Gate City Bank. Phil is driven in the fight against fraud not only in advocating for victims but bringing the fight to the fraudsters. He has a strong belief that fraud and scam education creates a harder target for fraudsters. Phil has continuously gone out to educate the community by speaking at events such as this, assisting in social media strategies, and participating in a monthly radio show. We are honored to have him discuss his views on how it affects people in all walks of life and all age groups.
