We are so excited to celebrate a very special milestone for someone who means so much to our BeeHive family—Shawna! 🎉💛🖤💛🖤🐝🐝🐝

For the past 3.5 years, Shawna has been a dedicated and compassionate part of our team, building meaningful connections with our residents and bringing kindness and care into our home each day. We are incredibly proud to share that she has graduated from Bradley University’s Master’s Program as a Nurse Practitioner!

To honor this amazing achievement, we will be hosting an Open House Celebration, and we would love for our residents’ family and friends to join us in celebrating Shawna.

📅 June 6, 2026
⏰ 1:00–4:00 PM
📍 The Armory Annex (connected to Swing Barrel Brewery)
The Dirty Bird Room

This will be a relaxed, come-and-go event—no gifts, just your support and well wishes as we celebrate Shawna and all she has accomplished.

Hope to see you there as we recognize her hard work, dedication, and this exciting next chapter!

April brought a wonderful mix of energy, creativity, and connection to our home, and it was such a joy to see residents so actively engaged throughout the month. We shared many laughs during our game times, with everything from trivia and Yahtzee to lively rounds of BINGO and bean bag toss sparking friendly competition. Our creative side shined through as residents painted spring rocks, decorated ceramic bunnies, and enjoyed relaxing dot painting sessions, each activity offering a chance to express themselves and welcome the new season. We also made the most of the beautiful weather by spending time outdoors reading to residents, creating peaceful and uplifting moments together.

The month also gave us meaningful opportunities to gather in more reflective ways, including our Passover activity and a special Easter Sunday devotional. Residents enjoyed great outings and experiences, including a trip to Dairy Queen followed by a scenic ride to Buffalo River State Park, as well as time spent baking together—always a favorite that fills both the kitchen and halls with wonderful aromas. Seasonal treats added to the fun, including no-bake cookie nests filled with jelly bean eggs and festive dirt cups made to celebrate Earth Day.

One of the highlights was celebrating twin sisters Lois & Lola’s 93rd birthday, made even more special with live music from the Norsky Brothers, bringing smiles, toe-tapping, and plenty of joy to the day. We were also treated to a delightful kids piano concert, which brought a special sense of warmth and connection across generations. Throughout it all, our regular favorites like Forever Fit and Memory Lane Radio Hour helped keep both bodies and minds active, while movie matinees and shared snacks gave everyone time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. April was full of special moments—both big and small—and we’re so grateful to share these experiences together.

March was a lively and engaging month at Beehive Homes, filled with opportunities for residents to stay active, creative, and connected. Favorite activities like BINGO, trivia, word games, and board games brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition, while wellness remained a priority through Forever Fit, indoor bowling, balloon volleyball, and other light exercise activities. Residents also enjoyed their first sunshine stroll of the year, taking in the unseasonably warm March weather and fresh air together.

Residents also enjoyed coming together to cheer on the North Dakota State Bison during their NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament appearance, creating a fun and spirited atmosphere full of excitement and team pride.

The month included many special highlights. Residents celebrated Peggy’s birthday, decorated festive St. Patrick’s Day cookies, and explored Irish culture through our “Passport to Ireland” activity. Creative moments continued with painting ceramic gnomes and suncatchers, making homemade play dough, and participating in a variety of hands-on crafts.

We were also delighted to welcome a visit from Bio Girls, whose time with residents brought meaningful connection and plenty of smiles. Entertainment was a highlight throughout the month as well, featuring live music with Tim Moser, Big Joe Polka shows paired with ice cream treats, sing-alongs, and classic movie nights with favorites like The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music.

Aaron Hochstetler, our new Activities Director, is already getting into the swing of things and enjoying time with our residents. He brings a strong background in life enrichment, community engagement, and program leadership, with a passion for creating meaningful, person-centered experiences that support cognitive, physical, and social well-being—especially in assisted living and memory care. With experience in healthcare, education, and community outreach, along with advanced degrees in Health Administration and Public Administration, he combines thoughtful planning with a warm, hands-on approach. He is excited to get to know each resident and bring fresh energy, creativity, and connection to our community.

We are excited for all that April has to bring and look forward to sharing more special moments together. Be sure to follow along—monthly updates from Beehive Homes will be shared right here!

While the outcome wasn’t what we had hoped for, yesterday was still a wonderful time together. Residents gathered in the living room, sharing smiles, conversation, and plenty of excitement as they cheered on the Bison in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament.

It was a special afternoon filled with connection, team spirit, and the simple joy of enjoying the moment together. 🏀💛💚

We made some cute little edible groundhogs yesterday and also did some art with the groundhog seeing its shadow. Some residents gave a 👍 and some a 👎, but either way had fun. Today we water painted, and some made some friendship bracelets. They enjoyed each others company with some laughs.

They shared stories about what they did on Valentines Day with their sweetheart, and yes we had so many laughs with some of the stories they told. Thinking they enjoyed this.
