World Hepatitis Day – July 28, 2025

Hepatitis is a silent epidemic—most people with hepatitis B or C don’t even know they’re infected until serious liver damage has already happened. Over 300 million people worldwide are living with viral hepatitis, and it leads to more than 1 million deaths each year—many of them preventable.

This year’s theme, “Let’s Break It Down,” is about removing the barriers that stop people from getting tested and treated—whether that’s lack of awareness, stigma, or access to care.

Here’s what you can do:

•Get tested – especially if you were born before widespread vaccination or live in an area with high infection rates.
•Get vaccinated – hepatitis B is vaccine-preventable.
•Ask for treatment – hepatitis C is curable, and hepatitis B can be managed with lifelong care.
•Talk about it – breaking the stigma saves lives.

July 24 is International Self-Care Day 🧖‍♀️
A reminder that looking after yourself isn’t a luxury—it’s a responsibility.

Self-care doesn’t have to look like spa days or elaborate routines. It’s often much quieter than that. It’s drinking water before you’re thirsty. It’s going to bed when you’re tired instead of pushing through. It’s saying no when something drains you, even if you feel guilty at first. It’s taking ten minutes to breathe before you dive into the next task. It’s noticing how you feel and honoring it, even when the world is moving fast around you.

Take a moment. Check in. Do something today that supports your well-being—however small.
Maybe that means:

•Getting outside for fresh air
•Turning off your phone for 30 minutes
•Drinking more water
•Saying no without guilt
•Asking for help when you need it

The idea behind July 24 is powerful: self-care should happen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Not once in a while—every day, in ways that are sustainable and personal to you.

National Moon Day | July 20 🌕

On this day in 1969, over 600 million people around the world watched in awe as Neil Armstrong took the first human steps on the Moon during Apollo 11.

🚀Fun Fact: The Apollo Guidance Computer had just 64KB of memory and a processor running at 0.043 MHz — far less powerful than your smartphone today! And yet... they traveled 238,855 miles, landed on the Moon, and made it home safely.

Armstrong’s iconic words—“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”—still inspire generations to dream big and look up.

July is Healthy Vision Month

Did you know?👀
🔹 Over 12 million people in the U.S. over age 40 have vision impairment
🔹 Many eye diseases show no early symptoms
🔹 A comprehensive dilated eye exam can detect problems before they affect your sight

Here’s how to keep your vision sharp: Make sure to get regular eye exams, eat eye-friendly foods like leafy greens, fish, and citrus, wear sunglasses with UV protection, take screen breaks using the 20-20-20 rule (every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds), and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

Your vision is a key part of your overall health. Let’s protect it—for life.

National Simplicity Day – July 12 🌿

Simplicity isn’t about having less—it’s about making space for what truly matters. In today’s busy world, slowing down and focusing on the essentials can bring peace, clarity, and joy.

This day is about more than just decluttering your home—it’s a call to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters.

In a world filled with noise, busy schedules, and constant digital connection, simplicity offers a path back to:

•Clarity over chaos
•Presence over distraction
•Meaning over materialism

Whether it's turning off your phone for an hour, going for a walk in nature, or saying “no” to what doesn’t serve you, simplicity helps us reduce stress, improve focus, and live more intentionally. 🧘‍♀️

July is Disability Pride Month 🌈
July marks Disability Pride Month in the United States—a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and diverse contributions of the disability community. This observance began in 1990, the same year the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law, protecting the civil rights of people with disabilities.

It’s not just about visibility—it’s about empowerment, inclusion, and advocacy. Disability Pride challenges outdated narratives and uplifts the voices, talents, and lived experiences of over 61 million Americans with disabilities.

Pride is powerful. Inclusion is essential. Accessibility is a right—not a privilege.

July is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month

Did you know that nearly 300,000 children in the U.S. are affected by juvenile arthritis? Unlike arthritis in adults, juvenile arthritis isn't caused by aging—it's an autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy joints, causing pain, swelling, and stiffness.

Early diagnosis and treatment are key to managing symptoms and protecting joint function. Juvenile arthritis doesn’t just impact physical health—it can affect a child’s emotional and social development too.

Let’s raise awareness, support research, and advocate for better care and a brighter future for all kids living with arthritis.

June 27 is National HIV Testing Day
An estimated 1.2 million people in the United States are living with HIV — and about 1 in 8 of them don’t know about it.

Getting tested is the only way to know your status. Early detection not only helps you take control of your health, but also reduces the risk of transmission to others. Today’s treatments allow people living with HIV to lead long, healthy lives — and when treated effectively, the virus can become undetectable and untransmittable.

HIV testing is quick, confidential, and often free. Whether you're sexually active, starting a new relationship, or just staying on top of your health, make HIV testing part of your regular routine.
