This is from a doctors education group I belong to, but it explains the issue well. For years, I’ve taught my patients, one of the primary drivers of all cancers is insulin. Fasting insulin is not something that’s usually tested by your primary doctor. You should demand it, usual lab values for insulin go up to 19.However, research shows that you want to keep your blood insulin levels between 2 to 4 to be optimal. Definitely under double digits. The more carbohydrates you eat the more your cells demand insulin. Eventually your cells start to get deaf to insulin, your pancreas responds by increasing insulin levels , in attempt to drive glucose into your cells. This is what insulin resistance is. I tell patients it’s like someone is constantly yammering at you and you finally tune them out. That’s what your cells eventually do to insulin, if you’re eating a high carbohydrate diet.
The issue is that cancer cells are very poor at utilizing aerobic energy production and need to rely anaerobic which is very inefficient. Therefore they need lots of glucose and they need it now. Researcher shown that cancer cells can have 10 to 100 times more insulin receptors on their cell membranes. Why? So they can grab all the glucose they can to keep their cellular growth going. Want to starve them out, lower your blood glucose levels and your insulin levels. And as I’ve mentioned in another post, insulin loves to drive up inflammation in your body, causing you to feel achy and stiff. What’s more, insulin is the second most common driver of cancer cell growth so elevated insulin is a double whammy! So please cut out all sugars and lower your insulin levels by cutting down on carbohydrates.

You may not realize it, but you eat an equivalent of a credit card of plastic each week. This is in the form of micro and nano plastics that enter our bodies through the food and water we drink. Studies have found that we have micro and nano plastic even in our stool. But not all of it passes through us. As this study shows micro and nanoplastics become embedded in our arterial walls. Why is this a problem? Numerous studies have shown that micro and nano plastic is pro-inflammatory in our tissues. Why is this a problem, because research has well established that all cardiovascular and cerebral vascular disease is driven by inflammation. In one study, they fed rats, micro, and nano plastic and were able to measure it in their brain tissue within a matter of hours. In other words, this micro and plastics are crossing our blood brain barrier, and turning on a neuroinflammation. Again, research has well established that dementia, Alzheimer’s and all neurodegenerative diseases are driven by neuroinflamation. I highly recommend we really work hard to clean the plastic out of our environment and out of our bodies.

A recent study from Italy found microplastics — polyethylene and PVC — lodged in around 60% of the plaques surgically removed from patients with atherosclerosis.

One thing we have to realize is that chronic systemic inflammation is a driver of all chronic disease. Before the chronic disease develops, we have a lot of chronic stiffness, pain, and aching from the inflammatory process. That’s why I was say you have to get healthy to get rid of the pain. Visit my website at painandbrainhealingcenter.com on tips to reduce systemic chronic inflammation. Dr. Greg Fors.

Depression, cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, dementia, allergies, asthma, chronic fatigue, autoimmune disease, and more are all inflammatory diseases. ⁣

That begs the question, what is causing all this rampant inflammation? It’s mostly our food—too many inflammatory foods and not enough anti-inflammatory foods. ⁣

While there are many ways food can trigger inflammation, food is also the most powerful source of anti-inflammatory compounds. Many of those 25,000 + phytochemicals are powerful anti-inflammatories. The polyphenols in plant foods are among nature's best inflammation-fighting compounds. Where is the best place to find these compounds? At the end of the rainbow — a rainbow of bright pigments and colors found in plant foods, red, green, yellow, orange, purple. Extra virgin olive oil contains oleocanthal, for example, which activates the same anti-inflammatory receptors as ibuprofen without all the side effects. ⁣

Spices are anti-inflammatory powerhouses, including turmeric, ginger, and rosemary. Meat cooked with spices neutralizes potential inflammation. Omega 3 fats found in wild foods, fish, seafood, and some nuts and seeds are also powerful anti-inflammatories. ⁣

Mushrooms including Sh*take, Maitake, Reishi, Chaga, Turkey tail, and Cordyceps contain powerful immune regulating and anti-cancer compounds called polysaccharides. And foods rich in vitamins and minerals boost immunity and reduce inflammation, including vitamin C, zinc, selenium, and vitamin D. Vitamin D alone regulates hundreds of genes that affect inflammation and immunity. So a meal of guavas and parsley (vitamin C), pumpkin seeds and oysters (zinc), Brazil nuts and sardines (selenium), and porcini mushrooms and herring (vitamin D) is an immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory super meal. Not sure what you could make with all those ingredients, but you get the idea!⁣

The best thing you can do for your health is to cut down or cut out inflammatory foods and increase anti-inflammatory foods starting today.

Very important study. What they’re missing is the role elevated insulin plays in this whole metabolic syndrome. As you become insulin resistant, fluctuating elevation in insulin happens throughout the day, depending especially on what you eat. More carbs, more need for increased serum insulin. Insulin has two primary actions. First, attempt to drive glucoseinto cells. Second, act as an anabolic hormone, creasing, fat storage and slowing down fat burning. in other words, insulin resistance with elevated insulin levels obesity goes up. Numerous studies have also shown that elevated insulin will increase blood pressure. Furthermore, Insulin also drives up inflammation in body tissues and Insulin drives cancer cells. Two of the most important factors of cancer cell production is chronic tissue inflammation, and elevated insulin. So metabolic syndrome truly is assigned of insulin resistance and all the health problems that derives from that. What’s the fix? remove all sugars and simple carbs and lower complex carbs depending on how insulin resistant you are.Dr. Greg Fors.

It's known that obesity is linked to many cancers. A study shows metabolic syndrome, which includes factors like high blood pressure and insulin resistance, also drives increased risk.

Fantastic study, environmental working group is a great public service. There is more chemicals in our food supply than we have any idea of. It’s also along with the fact that is a great deal of micro plastics in our food.
