Happy Tuesday friendsπͺ΄
So far I have held tight to a healthier 2024!
Working towards my goals of a Dry January, No smoking, Clean eating, A gallon of water a day and a month and a half of Parasite cleansing.
It's been going surprisingly well. I think once you get a roll on controlling yourself, everything becomes easier as you go.
I started with smoking. Cold turkey, made it up in my mind, thought about my health, my family and working in the nursing home. I remember seeing all the effects of not having discipline with not smoking. Emphysema, COPD, being tethered to an oxygen machine. I don't want that in my life, and I don't want that burden for my family. When you think of it like that, it's hard not to quit. Plus who has the money for it anymore?
Drinking has never done anything good for me. And it doesn't help me be smarter, a better person or father. It makes me lazy, unhappy and fat. Some more good reasons to quit. Cold turkey, dry January.
Clean eating is probablyy hardest thing to stick to. I've always told myself while I'm not drinking, I'm not smoking, and I should be able to eat the way I want right? Well, 340 lb later I've made that decision again to start heading towards clean eating. So far I'm about 5 days into one of my favorite clean eating refreshes from omnitrition. I do modify it a little bit so that it fits my lifestyle and my needs, however I've seen great success. Low calories, moderate protein intake, no sugar, and very minimal salt. It's about as basic as possible. With a lot of water. This is hard for me, because meal prepping is a massive part of this, so it's a learning game. I purchased quite a lot of the plastic containers to help myself meal prep, as well as a few protein shaker bottles.
Today I woke up and had an organic pea protein shake, with two tangerines including the skin. Tangerines have some great things in them to help lower cholesterol levels. And a lot of vitamin c packed in those peels. It actually tastes surprisingly good.
To make sure I get my water, I purchased some large plastic bottles (Bpa) free, I found that having a large bottle with me always makes me drink more water. If for some reason I only drink one bottle, I've at least already made a big impact compared to the usual.
For my parasite cleanse I've been taking garlic bulbs every morning, on an empty stomach. I cut up a piece of garlic into small pieces, like a pill. Then I swallow them, no chewing involved, and then they don't taste bad. I've also been taking something called (Parabroom). I can definitely say that I have been feeling a lot less foggy, and a lot less tender and gassy. I don't think people realize that a parasite cleanses so good for you. America is one of the only areas in the world that people don't pay attention to that. If you have pets in your home, you're pretty darn likely to have a parasite. If you eat sushi, yep you probably got them.
Let me know how your goals are going for the 2024 season! Or if you have any tips or tricks to help me feel my best as well.
