Since then, six-to-seven new courses are held each year in Surgical Pathology and Dermatopathology on the Hawaiian Islands, South Carolina and California. Courses are designed to provide stimulating, up-to-date reviews on topics of critical interest to practicing Surgical Pathologists and Dermatopathologists. I am a big fan of Scientific Symposiums. The sessions are well-run, intellectually stimulating, and fun. In addition to lectures offering timely reviews and updates, the last session each day is run as a panel discussion, where one speaker presents cases as unknowns to other speakers and the audience. This makes for an exciting exchange of ideas and insights. The size of the meeting and welcoming atmosphere is such that everyone seems comfortable participating. I have probably learned as much from audience questions and comments as I have from the excellent lectures. Scientific Symposiums has sponsored these educational events for 25 years, and the experienced organizers pay attention to every detail to ensure a successful meeting. With high quality education providing CME in beautiful settings, it is no surprise that many attendees return regularly to Scientific Symposiums. I plan to as well.
