If you find a tick on your dog or cat, it’s important to remove it promptly and properly to reduce the risk of disease. As demonstrated by our Hospital Director Tara, here’s how:

✅ Use fine-point tweezers to firmly grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible, focusing on the head (and NOT the body).
✅ Gently pull straight out to remove the tick completely.
✅ Drop the tick into rubbing alcohol to kill it.
✅ Disinfect the bite area on your pet’s skin.
✅ Save the tick in a sealed container so your vet can inspect it if your pet shows signs of illness later.
✅ Monitor your pet closely for changes in behavior, appetite, or energy and call your veterinarian if you notice any signs of illness.

Protecting your pets from ticks is an important part of their overall health. 🐾 Stay vigilant and reach out to your veterinary team if you have any concerns!

Handsome Jasper was brought to MedVet Phoenix for a little extra oxygen and TLC after his airway surgery, and recovered beautifully with the help of our team.

Under the expert guidance of Dr. Raegan Wells, along with collaboration from our Surgeons, Drs. Jean Acuña and Lynn Maki, Jasper received one-on-one nursing care.

Our team absolutely fell in love with this sweet guy! He even decided to “help” our Technicians Brenda, Becky, and Kristen with their work during his stay. 💻🐶

We’re thrilled to share that Jasper made a wonderful recovery and is now back home where he belongs. Way to go, Jasper! 💙

Dango, an 11-year-old cat, was brought to MedVet Norwalk after his family noticed he wasn’t eating as much. Tests revealed elevated liver enzymes, which led our Internal Medicine specialist, Dr. Robert Frischer, to perform an abdominal ultrasound. This showed enlarged lymph nodes, and further testing confirmed large granular lymphoma—a rare and aggressive form of cancer that affects white blood cells and, in Dango’s case, his liver.

Now under the care of Dr. Jennifer Mahoney from our Oncology team, Dango is receiving personalized chemotherapy designed to target cancer cells while keeping him comfortable and happy at home. 🐾

Through every step, Dango’s sweet spirit and resilience have inspired everyone on his care team. We’re so proud of this brave boy and the collaboration between our Internal Medicine and Oncology teams helping him live his best life. 💙

Meet Jolene, our sweet patient who recently visited MedVet Dayton's Urgent Care department for some serious scratching!

Dr. Miranda Williams diagnosed Jolene with atopic dermatitis, a chronic condition that causes itchy skin due to environmental allergens like pollen, mites, molds, and dander. To help Jolene find relief, Dr. Williams prescribed antibiotics and itch blockers.

We’re thrilled to share that Jolene is on the mend and back to frolicking happily in her five-acre pasture at home! 🐾
