didn’t become a woman of faith because life was going well.
I became one because I was in a bad place.

I fell on my knees.
I asked Jesus to come into my heart.

And He did.
Quietly.
Faithfully.

National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC.
It was meaningful to sit in a room centered on prayer, reflection, and responsibility.

I listened to many voices today.
Including President Donald Trump and Reema bint Bandar.
Different backgrounds. Different perspectives.
All gathered around the same table of faith.

Moments like this remind me that prayer has a way of softening lines.
Of calling us back to humility.
And to the deeper work of listening.

Grateful for the opportunity to witness it firsthand.

A lot of stress comes from trying to manage things that were never ours to control.
Energy gets scattered.
The nervous system stays tight.

There’s a quiet shift that happens when we separate what’s in our hands
from what never was.

This video walks through a simple list.
Five things you can’t control.
And five things you can.

The soul remembers everything.
From the time we are little, words land and stay.

Sometimes they come from people who didn’t know better.
Sometimes they come from moments of pain.
You’re lazy.
You’re not smart.
You can’t sing.

Those words get stored.
Not because they’re true.
But because they were heard.

Over time, the mind repeats them like facts.
But they’re not truth.
They’re noise.
Old information that never belonged to you.

Part of healing is learning to notice what the mind is saying
and gently asking,
Is this true
or is this something I picked up along the way

Awareness gives you choice.
And choice brings freedom.

If you know me, you know I love Johnny Cash.
His music has always stayed with me.

I even have a life size image of him at home
right next to his CDs in my music room.
He feels like part of the atmosphere in there.

This quote has meant a lot to me over the years.
Life is rough, so you gotta be tough.

Rooted.
Resilient.
Willing to keep showing up.

You’re not here to be fully understood by everyone else.
You’re here to understand yourself.

When you step back and observe, space opens up.
You don’t have to get tangled in every story the mind creates.
Those stories pass.
They are not who you are.

There is something deeper watching it all.
Something steady.
Something wise.

This life is an invitation to learn yourself.
Gently.
Honestly.
Without rushing.

There are moments when darkness feels close.
Heavy thoughts. Long days. A tired heart.

In those moments, I make an effort to move toward the light.
Sometimes it’s simple.
Getting outside.
Moving my body.
Letting fresh air remind me that life is still here.

And deeper than all of that, I remember this.
Jesus lives in my heart.
Light is not something I have to search for.
It is already within me.

When I choose to turn toward that light, even gently,
the darkness begins to loosen its grip.

Guided meditation helps the nervous system settle because it gives the mind something safe to follow.
When the voice leads, the body doesn’t have to stay alert or make decisions.

Attention moves out of constant thinking
and back into the body.
Breath slows.
Muscles soften.

This is how the nervous system resets.

Even sixty seconds of guided presence can interrupt stress patterns
and remind the body that it is safe to rest again.

When I bring love to what I’m feeling, the intensity softens.

When I add compassion, the body relaxes.

When I trust God, the emotion no longer controls me.

Love, compassion, and trust don’t erase feelings.
They transform our relationship to them.
