Close out the year by transitioning slowly into winter with our therapeutic yin series. Class is heated to create a cozy environment and help unravel bound connective tissue. Yin yoga consists of floor postures using props to relax engagement of muscles and held an extended period of time to reach CT and deeper layers of fascia.
Each session will be a full body sequence of postures. The classes expand upon the previous week, adding different poses, including options for more challenging variations, and holding them for a longer duration. Like many forms of movement, the body adapts to its physiological changes. The goal is to eventually have the joints more lubricated with an increased range of motion. Students receive some hands-on assists & massage as we aim to have the muscles relaxed in these postures.
