We are experiencing the miracle of new life today. God's plan is amazing! These little creatures know exactly what to do and when the time is right to come into the world!

We have the first chick of our Mother's Day brood! This one couldn't wait and hatched a day early! There are 34 more eggs in the incubator. How many do you think will hatch?

We started incubating 40 eggs on April 21. We are currently on day 12 of a 21-day process. They are due to begin hatching on May 11, which is Mother's Day. Today we candled all the eggs. This involves placing a bright light against the egg to illuminate inside the shell. This allows us to see if there is a developing chick embryo inside the egg. Please enjoy this video of what we saw in one of the eggs. Notice the dark shadow of the embryo moving around and the blood vessels running throughout the egg, as well as the yolk.

I don't understand how or why God came up with the plan to turn a messy slimy egg into a chick, but I know that ONLY God can create that plan. Please continue to pray for the ladies in the program, as they too are moving past the mess their lives once were and growing in their new lives with Christ Jesus.

The ladies love the opportunity to get out into the community and learn new things. Today we visited Mr. Garry Culpepper and his wife Lek while they showed us around their business, Mill Creek Crab Company. It was interesting to learn about how the crabs shed twice a year and that's when soft shell crabs are available.
